Advantages: Quick, Cheap, Easy, Portable and Reliable
Disadvantages: Larger than more modern alternatives, slightly noisy, brightly lit.

I bought this drive almost a year ago now, It does exactly what it says, looks reasonable and functions well - fast enough to run applications/games/movies and music from it is a perfect addition to any setup lacking memory. The only downfalls to the drive are the bright LED light (which can be remedied with a bit of blue tack to stop it lighting up the room at night, and a slight whirring noise, which one must expect.. Toshiba are a very good electronics company in general and have a great reputation in the computer industry so it was with a certain amount of expectation that i tried out toshiba's offerings on the hard drive market and i certainly am not disappointed. ...around, I settled on the Toshiba MK8032GAX. I chose this disk for 3 reasons: Toshiba branding (I am a Toshiba fan), a large 8MB cache, and a competitive price scheme. I paid a lot more than you would now (I obtained the disk 3 months ago) The disk didn't dissapoint - I timed a Windows XP install at 25 minutes and 39 seconds, compared to the 42 minutes and 17 seconds with the original 10GB disk. ...Toshiba is simple to set up. In most laptops you won't have to change any settings - Most laptops run the main hard disk as a primary master. Read speeds were reported at an above average 31.8MB/Sec, probably due to the increased 5400RPM spin speed. Write speeds were equally impressive at around 30MB/Sec. Well, I just completed a week using the 120GB Xbox 360 hard drive, and I have to admit it was worth it! The capacity,looks etc. all made it worth it, especially since for me it was free (got it from a friend). I would recommend this to anyone who has a HDTV and wants to download his/her favorite movies.
