MOP - Top scran
Review of Master Of Puppets - Metallica by
SGallagher
Advantages: Mega all the way through
Disadvantages: None
This is the album that really set the standard for aspiring metal guitarists. Hetfield's rhythym playing is like nothing that was heard before - fast downstrokes virtually all the way through the album, quick chord changes and timing shifts were never so concentrated. Not only is the music technically difficult to play, it sounds so harsh, catchy and aggressive too.
Metallica had sounded original with their previous albums, but this record was totally ... ...Ratt, Cinderella etc) seem dated and, well, a bit silly.
If you like metal and don't own this album, get it.
It's a real pity that the band sold out by going to Bob Rock for later productions. If they hadn't sold out, they might still be making music that comes close to this. Sadly, they went rubbish. Sorry. ...

Not Zippy,Bungle and George!!!
Review of Very Best Of Rainbow, The - Rainbow by
kittyfluff
Advantages: You get a free rock map..Woohoo!
Disadvantages: Its not the rock you get at the seaside...
...his head is the title,The Very Best Of Rainbow.
The inside cover has various pictures of band memebers on stage, and some very posed photographs. In one picture Dio looks like a 17th century Dandy. What a flamboyant imp he is!
The best thing is when you fold out the inlay thing,it has a comprehensive list of albums,a giant rock family tree, and a detailed biography of Rainbow.
It really is an exeptional inlay. You could base a whole pub quiz around ... ...run naked through Sherwood forest. Very slow and sublime, and nice to listen to without being gooeeeyy.
We believe we catch the Rainbow...
Starstruck
This song was released in 1976 and also sung by Dio.This song is about an obssesed groupie.Hence the title. It is a really fast song, with fast punchy lyrics, and a great riff to it.There really is some great drumming in this too.
Dead easy to wail along to.
If I were high on a hill
She'd be still ...

20 of Maiden's greatest tracks all on one album
Review of Live At Donington 1992 [Remastered] [ECD] - Iron Maiden by
stephy666
Advantages: A fantastic album
Disadvantages: None
...of almost 70,000 for this live recorded album.
This is a personal favourite of mine and one of the most played albums of my collection. It features 20 classic Maiden songs across 2 discs and really brings the atmosphere of the event into your room. It features the timeless classics of Fear Of The Dark, The Number of the Beast, Wrathchild, Can I Play With Madness, The Evil That Men Do, Run To The Hills, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Iron Maiden, The Trooper ... ...and still gets a strong audience reaction whenever played.
It also features the not so well known or not so often played songs of Be Quick or Be Dead, From Here To Eternity, Wasting Love, Tailgunner, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Bring Your Daughter.... To The Slaughter, The Clairvoyant, Heaven Can Wait, Sanctuary and Running Free
The whole album is packed with energetic riffs and features a selection of their strongest songs that gets everyone up ...

Need Cheering Up?
Review of Cheer Up - Reel Big Fish by
RazzaLazza
Advantages: Some extremely strong tracks present here, an excellent horn section.
Disadvantages: Less Ska based than their older albums.
Reel Big Fish have never been a favourite band of mine, however nonetheless I have always had an appreciation for their music and as such when this album was released back in 2002 I soon bought it and had it in my possession. The thing I have always loved about this band is that no matter what they happen to be singing about, they always sound ridiculously happy and therefore listening to their music is always greatly rewarding, particularly when ... ...reason and really need to 'Cheer Up'. The band are best known for their single 'Sell Out' which was featured in the great 1998 film 'BASEketball', a film which starred South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
'Cheer Up' is the bands fourth studio album and begins with 'Good Thing', a track which kicks off the proceedings in the way in which we would expect; a fun song which is highly upbeat and with an excellent horn section giving the track ...
