Review of And Out Come The Wolves - Rancid by chedface

Advantages: immense
Disadvantages: the CD got scratched.

...Saw Rancid live last week and they blew my socks off. Maxwell Murder was immense the best bass line you'll ever hear, and when you first hear the album that will blow your socks off. every track is amazing and could easliy be released as a single which is the signs of a well made album. Other songs such as Ruby Soho, and Time Bomb, are well good punk/ska songs which last week got everyone dancing and singing along. this album has many catchy ... Read review

Need Cheering Up?
Review of Cheer Up - Reel Big Fish by RazzaLazza

Advantages: Some extremely strong tracks present here, an excellent horn section.
Disadvantages: Less Ska based than their older albums.

Reel Big Fish have never been a favourite band of mine, however nonetheless I have always had an appreciation for their music and as such when this album was released back in 2002 I soon bought it and had it in my possession. The thing I have always loved about this band is that no matter what they happen to be singing about, they always sound ridiculously happy and therefore listening to their music is always greatly rewarding, particularly when ...
...reason and really need to 'Cheer Up'. The band are best known for their single 'Sell Out' which was featured in the great 1998 film 'BASEketball', a film which starred South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. 'Cheer Up' is the bands fourth studio album and begins with 'Good Thing', a track which kicks off the proceedings in the way in which we would expect; a fun song which is highly upbeat and with an excellent horn section giving the track ... Reel Big Fish - Makes You Happy
Review of We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not happy [PA] - Reel Big Fish by cambria83

Advantages: Catchy, Upbeat and happy
Disadvantages: Not their best album

Ever since Reel Big Fish released "Favorite Noise" I think the question on everybody's lips has been "Will Their Next Album Be Their Last?". "We're Not Happy 'Till You're Not Happy" certainly hasn't answered the question but has certainly made it a bigger issue. Reel Big Fish always seem to release an album just in time for my summer walks to work and there's nothing I like better than listening to their upbeat happy sound on my relaxing sunshine ...
...Fire" and as soon as I pressed play on my Ipod, a couple of years ago Summer instantly arrived in England! Yes Reel Big Fish are back, in my opinion with some of the best material they have released in a while and have some extremely clear messages to portray within. With Song titles such as "Don't Start A Band", "Goodbye" and "Last Show" you may think they're growing tired of the industry in which they've become so successful. Aaron and co. have ... Read review

What it says on the tin... Just Sublime
Review of 40 Oz. To Freedom - Sublime (Punk) by BZ2886

Advantages: Potentially timeless, vast musical spectrum
Disadvantages: Not many

This album is arguably the best offering from rap/reggae/punk fusion band , Sublime. The untimely demise of the lead singer in a very rock 'n' roll manner means that with no new releases, its a good job that this album is so good. Almost thirty tracks confirms its status as one of those value for money albums and there are so many stand out tracks on this record that it would futile to list them. The album has a very free-flowing feel to it, however, ...
...or consistency. I prefer to say that this is a reflection on its raw grit and energy. Most people would struggle to avoid finding a track they like on here and if any of the three above genres interest you then this will be right up your street. There is a cover of 'Rivers of Babylon' which is blissfully relaxing and will appeal to fans of the old-school reggae style. While the constant switching and changing of the musical stylings means that the ... Read review

Don't waste time as your life won't wait
Review of Life Won't Wait - Rancid by Flash-Hammer

Advantages: Contains the group's finest material
Disadvantages: buried amongst a load of filler and some of it's worst

...So, the group's fourth LP, Life Won't Wait hit the shelves in 1998, and while it probably did very well in terms of initial sales, it did suffer a bit of a backlash from bitter fans who didn't hear those three chords played over and over enough times. Nowadays it's the record anyone rarely talks about, with it's follow up, Rancid (2000) basically taking all the heat off of it by dividing the fans even further. To be honest, it probably suits my musical ...
...the drummer nobody cares about, Life Won't Wait would not only see the band dabble with various musical styles, but also feature guest stars, most notably reggae star Buju Banton, whom the group also worked with on one of his records. I believe it was also the first album put out on Tim Armstrong's Hellcat Records label, which specialise in bringing out CDs in annoying cardboard sleeves instead of Jewel cases. Starting out with a pompous introduction, ... Read review
