Altec Lansing - AHS-502 (Headset)
Review of Altec Lansing AHS 502 Headset by
burnt_out
Advantages: Cheap..
Disadvantages: ..and not that great!
Judging the packaging alone, the Altec Lansing AHS-502 appears to be an impressive and expensive headset. When in reality it costs a mere £19.95 (including VAT) - the deception goes no further than that though.
While it's a big ole set of cans, the quality of the build feels somewhat flimsy. The huge size definitely works against it - although the closed cup design keeps in sound and external noise out, your ears start to sweat after only a few ... ...is attached to the left earpiece by what is essentially a flexible piece of plastic. This can be moved into any position for optimal placement, but the cable doesn't follow the plastic very well, which gives a pretty messy look.
Microphone recording quality was a saving grace overall, as my voice was picked up loud and clear above background noise.
Music playback was less impressive however and lacked detail at high and low frequencies. Although ...

Clear sound and a light design
Review of Altec Lansing AHS 302 Headset by
kurun
Advantages: Does not ruin your hairstyle
Disadvantages: Need some time to get used to them
These light headsets are worn hanging on the ears, much like glasses are worn, but ofcourse at the back of the head. The microphone may be positioned so that it captures to voice of the person properly. The sensitivity of the microphone may be adjusted from the controls which are placed about a meter down from the headset.
The long lead is really appreciated as it enables the headset to be connected to a computer which is placed somewhat far away.
... ...unit, about a meter down the wire from the headset. A common problem with headsets is for those who have speakers as well. Sometimes one needs to use the headset, as when talking to a friend and at other times one prefers the speakers as when listening to music or listening with a group. I solved this problem by using a 3.5mm jack splitter and connecting both the speakers and the headset to the computer using this splitter. In this configuration, ...

Great Belkin USB product
Review of Belkin Pro Series USB Extension Cable USB extender by
Rubeenio
Advantages: gives you an extra 1.8 meters on any USB product
Disadvantages: none
...money for a 1.8 meter Belkin Pro Series USB Extension Cable and was very very happy with it when I got home. It is very well made with a nice thick rubber protective rapping over the wire inside so unless you cut it with a knife its not going to be damaged if you full on it a little or even a allot. It supports all standard USB ports with its well made male plug (the bit that goes into the computer) and on the other end of the cable has a nice thick ... ...device in) I have had no problems with this cable at all, it doesn't suffer from any lag and because it has a thick cable it doesn't snap or damage if you catch it with you feet while its laying on the floor, it might get pulled out of your computer but I have done this a few time now and it hasn't been damaged at all.
There isn't much more I can say about this product because its just a cable and it does what it says on the box, it provides a reliable ...

Microsoft lifechat lx-3000 review
Review of Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset by
page17
Advantages: good value, microphone and build
Disadvantages: audio output can crackle
I have had this headset fo about 1 month now and after looking closely at the different qualities of the headset i decided that it is worth its price tag.
comfort- The comfort of the headset is very good, the size is adjustable to create a perfect fit for most people and the padding around the ears is extremely good for moulding around the ear.
style-I think that the design is good because of the contrasting white and black as well as the ear cup ... ...not too chunky like previouse headsets i have had.
Sound- The sound is good for music and gaming due to a high level of base in addition to the noise reducing ear cups. You get a sense of left or right when gaming etc. One doownfall i found with the sound is that when turned up to a reasonably high volume the headset started to crackle.
Microphone-Extremly good at lowering background noise and producing a clear recording, good use for skype.
cable-6 ...

Good for the price
Review of Labtec Verse 534 Microphone by
Desperado19
Advantages: One of the cheapest microphone available
Disadvantages: Noise reduction is slightly poor
If you're looking for a bargain price microphone for your PC I doubt you'll do better than this. With a little searching its not too difficult to find it for under £10 making it one of the cheapest mics out there.
The microphone isn't that big so it shouldn't be too hard finding a place on your desk to put it and even if you can't find a space there it comes with a handy little accessory that you can use to clip it to the side of your monitor.
... ...be Skype or online gaming, your friends certainly won't find it hard to hear you. You certainly don't need to raise your voice or even be too close to the microphone for it to pick you up.
Where it falls short however is for proper voice recording. If you're looking to do a podcast or perhaps record that demo of you singing you definitely do not want this microphone. While it does come with noise removal built in, it isn't that good and you'll ...
