It's worth reading Coben's own short introduction in which he suggests that if you haven't read any of his other work, then perhaps you should, before you come back to this one. That’s not just the guy being modest. What he says about the book being dated is absolutely true. But it's only 'dated' because it didn't get published at the time and he chose not to update it now that he's a fashionable (and justifiably so!) bankable writer. Despite penning this book in his early twenties, it has only recently been published in the UK. I first came across this book when ASDA had a 3 for £10 offer on paperbacks. I chose this one because I've read a couple of Harlan Coben's books before and quite enjoyed them but also the blurb on the back seemed quite intriuging.
