Harleys don't handle,Harleys are slow,well I bought my FXDX in February 03,an 01 model,from a dealer for £8750 and I reckon it's a bargain.The FXDX with it's sticky boots gives great grip both in the wet and dry and the twin piston dual front brakes bring this big bike to a halt with ease.Power is on the lazy side but don't be fooled there is power in abundance when you want it.This is a big bike with great looks,great brakes and great handling, it holds the line and doesn't tend to stray.This is probably the best Harley ever made and probably the best all round bike out there.Believe me this bike is fast, it's not an R1 and it doesn't want to be it's a Harley-Davidson.It's a heavy bike but on the move and in traffic you wouldn't think so,you can,as they say,throw it around in the fullest of confidence that it won't let go.The only minus side to it is the lack of comfort for the pillion,the seat is styled nicely and the pillion suffers because of this.Anyway it's great ,if you can, buy it today ,if not today then tomorrow.Mine had 1000 miles on the clock and was ready to rock and roll,which it did.It was also fitted with a stage 1 kit which helps the engine breathe which results in the power increase,it also came with windsreen and rack/seat combination,about£1000 worth of extras so yet again at £8750 with 1000 miles etc.etc. it was a bargain when compared with other bikes and of course the Harley doesn't depreciate like the Japanese.
