I saw these, slightly phallic speakers in a shop a LONG time ago, and loved them to pieces immediately. But there was no way I could spend that much (nearly £200) at the time, on speakers for my PC.
Anway, I invested in a high quality soundcard some time ago, as I was doing a lot of work with music. Since then, I'm doing less "professional" music stuff, and decided I wanted to get those awesome speakers I saw a few years back.
After some searching, I found them for just over £100. I looked at the beatiful lines of the speaker satellites, and the amazing curves of the subwoofer. I COULDN'T RESIST! I bought them, and I haven't regretted it since.
The box they come in is so exciting to look at, I think I must have sat staring at it for about 10 mins before I tore into it to retrieve my new equipment. It was so exciting. They were well packed in shaped card - everything easy to put up and assemble.
Slightly lacking on the instructions front, but it's not too tough, as all the connectors for the speakers can only really fit in the holes they are meant to, and then it's up to you to plug the main cable into the right slot on your soundcard (or whatever you're plugging them into).
Anyway, they produce an amazing range of sound, and the subwoofer makes an awesome noise! And the speakers have a fascinating arrangement of blue spheres and wires in them - they look great.
The touch-sensitive volume control on the right speaker makes me feel like I'm in an episode of Space 1999. And they really perk up my desk. I have to say, that despite owning them for around 5 months, I still see them and think "wow", every day.
My only complaints are: the sub-woofer has a blue glowing light that you can't turn off without unplugging the power source. Which might be a pain if you have them in a bedroom. And that the sub woofer tends to trap small critters, where they die, and then sit, staring out at you. A bit tough to empty out when they do that.
Anyway, excellent product. Love it. EVERY HOME SHOULD HAVE ONE.
