...The AVR 7000 is the new to end product from Harman Kardan. It is available in the US at the moment - however can be imported easily by purchasing on the Web. It retails at $1600, however $1000 is nearer the mark if you buy from a good dealer. EBAY is one place to look. The unit is solidly constructed, weighs in at 50 pounds weight - mainly due to the very high-ens torroidial power transformers. I upgraded from a NAD 3020 amp to a HK AVR40 and when I heard the AVR7000 I just had to have it!!! Includes Dolby Digital, DTS. Check out the HarmanKardon Web-site....

Advantages: Looks, Price, Performance, Upgradability Disadvantages: Pre HDMI
...Bought this from ebay for the tidy sum of 900 Canadian Dollars. This unit was to replace my HarmanKardonAVR525 and I've never looked back. The High current amplification along with better engineering has allowed me to listen to the finest details in music that I never knew I was missing. There are 3 component inputs that should more that satisfy the average videophile and 4 digital audio imputs. The remote is nicely laid out and has a learning function that rivals my Sony RM 3000. All in all I'd say you cannot go wrong with this unit as it produces 100W/Channel in Stereo and 75 wpc in surround mode. I'm using Mission 78 series speakers which are not the most efficient on the market and it drives them without pause. A great buy especially now that the model is a few years old. I highly reccomend this after using Marantz, Denon...

Advantages: looks fantastic, beautiful picture (depending on connection), Disadvantages: expensive, reliability problems with brand
...armed with my brand new (in 2005) DVD22 I was hoping for a long and happy life with a brand that is famed for its build quality.
### LOOKS ###
The HarmanKardon DVD22 is a very attractive looking DVD player; being Silver and Black with a small but bright neon blue power light on the left hand side (which turns orange when on standby) a central DVD Drawer and the display (which shows a counter) on the right hand side. The various DVD control buttons reside along the centre of the unit, on the border between the silver and the black colour coding on the unit. The colour scheme of the unit matches the AV Amps that HarmanKardon produce (of which I have the AVR7300)
### FUNCTIONS ###
Obviously being DVD player the unit will play DVDs, it is also a multi region player (after a firmware upgrade via CD by the guys in the shop at no charge) so...

When I first saw these speakers in the market, i liked them. The transparent tube and satellite speakers look just great. But I dare not even think of buying them - £140 is a bit too much for me to spend on speakers.
I had borrowed the creative 6.1 ... more
