Advantages: Rich sound, super clarity, deep base, look great, robust, high quality Disadvantages: Simply none!
the Soundsticks the hifi unit, worth £900, got relegated to the loft as the Soundsticks do a better job, look great and save space.
On the left hand stick there are volume control pads that are nice and responsive to the touch.
It became apparent to me that these speakers have a variety of uses and I've had mine plugged into the TV, stereo and games consoles in addition to the Mac. In fact, if you're looking for a cheap alternative to surround sound for your favourite movies, these will do the job very well. For example, plug these into your TV next time Mission Impossible is on and you'll see what I mean.
Harmon Kardon Soundsticks have been on the market for a few years now. I've owned mine for 2.5 years without any issues and I haven't heard better units during this time. I haven't seen better looking units either. Really great value for such ...
Advantages: looks fantastic, beautiful picture (depending on connection), Disadvantages: expensive, reliability problems with brand
armed with my brand new (in 2005) DVD22 I was hoping for a long and happy life with a brand that is famed for its build quality.
### LOOKS ###
The HarmanKardonDVD22 is a very attractive looking DVD player; being Silver and Black with a small but bright neon blue power light on the left hand side (which turns orange when on standby) a central DVD Drawer and the display (which shows a counter) on the right hand side. The various DVD control buttons reside along the centre of the unit, on the border between the silver and the black colour coding on the unit. The colour scheme of the unit matches the AV Amps that HarmanKardon produce (of which I have the AVR7300)
### FUNCTIONS ###
Obviously being DVD player the unit will play DVDs, it is also a multi region player (after a firmware upgrade via CD by the guys in the shop at no ...
Advantages: nimble with good performance for its engine size, fun handling Disadvantages: Steering takes getting used to, basic interior, basic equipment
of performance, the 1.1 is a little slow. If you know how to get the best out of an engine this isnt a problem and you will soon find yourself moving briskly, keeping things on the boil with a few more frequent gear changes than usual. My advice here, get one with a rev counter or if you are impatent dont be tight and get one with a bigger engine! I would reccommend the 1.4 Furio or 1.6 VTR (8v) if you want anything that has all-round performance.
Fuel
Even driven hard on motorways or back lanes it will always give around 45mpg. On a long careful drives we achieve 50mpg easilly.
handling is its best quality - lots of FUN. Dont forget the VTR/VTS performance models are considered amongst the best handling cars around. It is beautifully balanced. My only critisism of the car here is that the ride can get 'bouncy' at times on rough roads ...
