Cleaning the toilet is not my favourite job around the house, so I thought I would pick up Harpic Hygienic Lavender Toilet Blocks because they were cheap and they claimed to keep your toilet clean for 1000 flushes. I still used bleach to clean it up a few times a week, but I not as much as when I do not have a toilet block fitted.

To use these toilet blocks you simply clip them onto the rim of the toilet where the water flow is maximum, then when it is all used up, throw it into the bin and replace. They are quite easy to use and make cleaning the toilet a lot easier and more efficient as they clean it each time the toilet flushes. I found these toilet blocks quite easy to clip in and use and they are designed to clean both above and below the water line.

This toilet block does have quite a nice smell to it, it is lavender scented and the smell is really clean and fresh. This block keeps your toilet smelling fresh constantly, so you do not have to keep freshening it up between uses.

The one criticism I have about these toilet blocks is that they do not look that attractive sitting in the toilet, especially after a few flushes. They do not come in a cage, so the more you use it, the more worn down and ugly they start to look. This has kind of put me off these and I think that in future I would be more likely to a different brand of toilet blocks.

You can buy a packet of 2 of Harpic Hygienic Lavender toilet blocks for £1.85 in Asda, which is an ok price as they last up to 1000 flushes per block. I do not think that mine lasted 1000 flushes, but it did last quite a while and much longer than I had expected.

Overall I think that this is an ok product. It does not really look that good in the toilet, but it does keep it much more hygienic and is much easier to use than bleach. I do not think I will be buying these again, unless they are drastically cheaper than the other brands. Overall I would give these 3 out of 5 stars.
