We were one million strong! We made our territory under the rim. For years she always used some feeble supermarket brand toilet cleaner. This was no match to us. We just hid beneath the limescale until it was all clear, then we'd come back out either to breed or infect whoever comes our way. Life was great.

Then one day everything changed!! She came in one day and plodded a black bottle on the cistern and left. I've never seem that bottle before so in panic I was trying to make out what the product was. To my horror it was harpic. Legend in colony has it that its game over when you see harpic. I destroys our limescale and burns you to death. Immediately the colony was in panic we knew what was coming but there was no way for us to escape. Minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day we gasped everytime she came into the toilet but each time we managed to escape.

Then one day she came in and walked to the toilet and pulled the flush. This is it we thought. She always does this before squirting the liquid over our home. She then lifted the seat and picked up the bottle. She seemed to have a bit of trouble with opening the bottle giving us time to rush beneath our limescale. She then directed the bottle under the rim and out came this thick blue liquid. From where i was i could only watch as she squirted it around the rim. I could already hear my friends screaming. i never heard a scream like it. Then before i knew it this acidic liquid covered our limescale. But this time we could see and hear the limescale destroying it until it had dissapeared. Then the most unimaginable pain hit it. A burning sensation. I couldn't help but see her there hovering above the loo looking very pleased with herself then she just lowered the lid and left us to burn. It was a slow painful death. I was clinging on but the majority of our colony were already dead. She then came back flushed. That was it for me. I'm now in germ heaven.

Why, why,why? We were so happy. And why such a painful death?
