I was trying to think of something to give my Dad for Christmas last year and thought I would do him a painting of my Mum who we lost back in 1995. I had a canvas spare as my Son had bought me a pack of two of them when he asked me to do a painting for him and I had lots of paints left over but my paint brushes had got a bit iffy with use so I looked on Amazon and found this pack of brushes for just £2.49.

The weather was quite bad at the time so I thought I would order them to save me traipsing round the shops and I wasn't in a great rush to get them. Plus I had some vouchers to spend on there so it seemed the perfect choice.

The brushes came in about 4 days, which was good going seeing as it was free delivery. There were three brushes in the pack and they looked nice and just what I was hoping for. The brushes were three different sizes so you had one that was quite thick, then a medium size one and then a thinner one for more outline kind of painting.

The paints I was using were acrylic so they wash out with water so I didn't have to worry about cleaning the brushes between colours as I could just swish them around in a jar of clean water.

I used the smallest brush first for painting out the details and then used the largest brush for filling in the colours on big areas. The medium brush was good for mixing the paints to make the right colours and for drawing in any thicker lines.

When I had finished the painting the brushes cleaned even better under the tap and didn't take long to come up clean, I just used a bit of kitchen towel to dry them off after.

Dad was really pleased with his painting and it has pride of place in his living room.

I have used the brushes over and over again for other paintings and they are still going strong now so I would recommend them.
