Well over the last few weeks I have become somewhat a fan of the Harry Potter books and this is the forth in the series and is called Harry Potter and the goblet of Fire.
The story stars with Harry being back at his Aunt and Uncles house who are muggles, none wizards, and not having any fun. He finds that he starts to get pain in his scar which was left when the Dark Wizard Voldemort tried to kill him, he is worried about it but soon has his mind taken off it when he meets up with his friends Ron and Hermione to go to the Quidditch World cup. Quidditch is a sport played by wizards.
Whilst at the world cup strange things start to happen and somebody makes the sign of the Dark Lord Voldemort in the sky which sets everyone off into a panic. Harry is soon back at school and happy again as he is away from his Aunt and Uncle and they soon find a massive event is to be taking place at Hogwarts. The Triwizard Championship. They are told that as it is dangerous only student over the age of 17 will be allowed to enter and then one person from the 3 school involved will be selected as its champion and compete in 3 tasks and the one with the most points at the end will be the winner.
Harry and his friends get the shock of their life when Harry’s name is selected for the tournament and they then have to try and work out who put his name into the goblet of fire for selection as there was an age spell around the goblet to stop underage student putting their name in.
Harry soon accepts that he has to participate in the tournament and he is delighted when he starts to get help and support from his new friend, the new Dark Arts teacher Mad eye Moody. But…. Will Harry succeed in the tournament and what will his 3 tasks involve and what was the purpose of his scar hurting and was it connected the sign of the Dark Lord at the world cup?
I have to say that so far I think that this is the best book in the series but I have not read the last three yet so that may change. I found this book to be a lot darker and slightly more scary that the previous ones. Harry does find that he is in much more danger in this story but I don’t think it is anything which is too scary for children to read as we know he will not die due to there being a further three books!
I liked the fact that the old characters were back in this story and there were some new ones involved as well which gave more depth to the whole story and made it different from the last. I did like the return of Hagrid and found him to be funny again in this book and I think he just seems very big and lovable. I liked the Mad Eye moody character and thought he was written as a great character which did have a hidden side and I just wish I could have a magic eye like he has to use on my boys!
J K Rowling has written this book is a wonderful way which is very easy to follow and the story is very involving. There are a few words which younger children may struggle with, names of spells and charms, but with a little help they will soon master them. I love the way she was able to get me to feel a whole different amount of emotions in the way she has written the book, one minute I would be chuckling at something Hagrid had done and the next I would be worried and scared for poor little Harry. She has also show that the characters are growing up in this book as she has got them all being interested in girls and the Christmas ball part of the story was funny when Ron and Harry were trying to find themselves a date. I think she aged the characters appropriately.
This book was written by J K Rowling and was published by Bloomsbury. The retail price on the back of the book is £6.99 for the paperback edition but I managed to get my copy for just £5 from Tesco.
I have to say that I am still sticking to the books before attempting to watch any of the films as I do not want to spoil the wonderful and magical pictures I have formed in my head for each of the characters and setting. I may well just have a whole week of watching the films when they have all been made and released but we will have to see. I do recommend this book to all children and adults alike as it is the forth instalment in the Potter series and in my opinion the best and darkest yet.

Review of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) - J.K. Rowling
Advantages: dark, twists adults and children will both love it, gripping Disadvantages: none
Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire is the 4th book in the Harry Potter series.
It is one of the best books in the Harry Potter collection by J. K Rowling.
This is where the books start becoming darker and from this point adults will start becoming addicted to the books.
When the Triwizard tournament comes to Hogswart 3 schools compete against each other for the title of Triwizard champion. Harry's name emerges from the Goblet even though he never ... ...as well as the favourites.
This book should be read by everyone even if your not a Harry Potter fan. It will leave you gripped and unable to put the book down.
The film is no substitute as it leaves so much out and does'nt do the book justice ...

Advantages: You can look back in the story to see what happened Disadvantages: None
One of my most favorite books! Most stories' interest are like this: It starts out boring, gets a little better, then is really good, then as it ends gets a little boring again. Well this book jumps up there into "interesting" fast, and does that same routine, but starting at the interesting level. If you've read the book, definitely get it. I did. I like to have it in case I want to read over it again. For example, (please do not read this paragraph ...

a condition that you must be over 17, however someone at Hogwarts wants Harry dead and he ends up being entered. (This causes a fall out between him and his friend Ron) As he has been entered and selected by he goblet he must compete in the three deadly tasks, the last of which will take him right to Lord Voldermort, along with another, the boyfriend of his crush, Cedric Diggory. Cedric Diggory is murdered by Voldermort and it becomes quite plan that Voldermort has finally returned to his full power.
The series starts to take a more grown up and dark turn here with two deaths in this book, but it is a wonderful story. ...
Advantages: Good character detail and action sequences. Disadvantages: Can drag on, also noticed some mistakes in the text.
Having read all the HarryPotterbooks except the last, I've found no. 4, 'The Goblet Of Fire' to be J.K.Rowling's greatest write so far. Gripping action blends with a well thought out, inventive story-line to create a truely epic novel.
Heres an eye into HarryPotter's general story-line, though I know most people have read a book or seen a film already... Harry was an ordinary kid, living an ordinary life until one day he discovered his true meaning... Harry is a wizard. His parents were murdered by the feared Lord Voldemort and he had famously survived Voldemort's wrath, escaping with a jagged lightening bolt scar.
The books and films are all about Harry's adventures whilst attending 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry', and also the challenges he faces whilst dealing with his greatest enemies.

HarryPotter No.4HarryPotter And The Goblet Of Fire is another great book written by the author J.K. RowlingHarryPotter And The Goblet Of Fire is the fourth in a row of four HarryPotter. In this story he goes to school like his previous years suspecting nothing and eager to start playing Quiditch again but then in the months coming up he hears that the Quidtich is cancelled and another event is called upon.
This event is called the Triwizard Tournament, which is a tournament, which a person from each school comes and competes in a number of tasks.
But to do this you have to put you name and school on a bit of paper ad put it in the Goblet Of Fire. The Thing is you have to be 18 to play so poor old Harry Can’t Play.
But when the names come out Harry’s name comes out he doesn’t know how but it does he ...

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the long-awaited, heavily hyped fourth instalment of a phenomenally successful series that has captured the imagination of millions of readers, young and old, across the globe. For J K Rowling the pressure is certainly on to continue to come up with thrilling, pacey storylines that allow her hero to mature into a young man without detracting from the magical secret that has made Harry into a superstar. In this book, the teenage Harry has a certain gawky charm that fits well with his advancing adolescence. As the story moves on, Harry too moves on to a new level of maturity that leaves the reader wondering how he will learn from his experiences, and liking him all the more as a character.
Once returned to Hogwarts after his summer holiday with the dreadful Dursleys and an extraordinary outing to the Quidditch World Cup, the 14-year-old Harry and his fellow pupils are enraptured by the promise of the Triwizard Tournament: an ancient, ritualistic tournament that brings Hogwarts together with two other schools of wizardry--Durmstrang and Beauxbatons--in heated competition. But when Harry's name is pulled from the Goblet of Fire, and he is chosen to champion Hogwarts in the tournament, the trouble really begins. Still reeling from the effects of a terrifying nightmare that has left him shaken, and with the lightning-shaped scar on his head throbbing with pain (a sure sign that the evil Voldemort, Harry's sworn enemy, is close), Harry becomes at once the most popular boy in school. Yet, despite his fame, he is totally unprepared for the furore that follows.
This is a hefty volume: 636 pages, of which probably at least 200 could have been cut without detracting from the story. The weight and complexity of the book is perhaps a hint that Rowling now has her eye sharply focused on her adult audience, and the average child-reader (particularly one who is coming to Harry Potter for the first time) may well find its girth daunting. Rowling's ironic and pointed observations on tabloid journalism and the nature of media hype is just one of the references littered through the book that will tickle the grown-ups but may well fly over the heads of her young fans.
However, after a slow start, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire really starts to sparkle halfway through with Rowling's familiar magic (and yes, there is a death--sudden and tragic--and yes, Harry does start to notice girls). The crux of this story, however, is Harry's gradual coming-of-age and his handling of the increasingly determined threats to his own life.
This book is pivotal, not just for the author for whom the heat is well and truly on, but for Harry and his readers who, by the last chapter, are left in little doubt that there is much more to come. (Ages 10 to adult) --Susan Harrison
