Best book of the lot! 0 of 6 Ciao Users found the following review helpful
Rating from phantomspannah 5 Stars ()

Advantages More magic; rising tension; secret alliance at Hogwarts

Disadvantages Character death; Professor Umbridge

In my opinion, the best book of the series so far; yes it does take the trio a long time to get to Hogwarts, and yes some parts do tend to drag on; but if you're interested in becoming immersed in the magical world - this is the book for you. Not only does the plot become richer, with a whole host of new characters introduced, but you get to see a lot more lessons and subject at Hogwarts. As they prepare for their OWL exams, you get a closer look at the subjects, and the magical examination system.

Furthermore, you can see how the tension starts to build steadily towards its dramatic climax in the Ministry Of Magic at the end of the book. Characters are killed off; a secret alliance is formed; Voldemort's return causes controvesy at Hogwarts...

Stephen Fry does a wonderful job of narrating the tale; his voice is easily adaptable to any character; from Harry to Hermione, and Dumbledore to Voldemort - he does the lot. He also brings something very unique to the series; that quintessential British accent.

As good as the book and narrator are however, I feel that the audiobook is very pricey (around £55). Given that this product is probably bought by or for teenagers and younger kids, its expensive; that's a lot of pocket money!
