The game is a great buy and is very fun. The graphics and sound are excellent, although the originality falls because it is sort of like the other games. I got it from Gamestation for about £35. and I rate it 8 out of 10.
Roam around the school for witchcraft and wizardry, completing tasks. Like the other games we have seen over the years.
After a short tutorial at number twelve Grimaced Place, you will go on to Hogwarts.
In the game, Hogwarts is amazing. The EA team have done a fabulous job off using the blueprints from the director. The usual sights are to be seen - spiraling staircases, the beautiful plants and trees, and the original Castle, courtyards and such. Who can forget the Magical Talking paintings on the walls.
As you go around the school, you are obviously going to see all the other kids that go there and hearing their random conversations. Each kid can be talked to, and the conversations can be quite intriguing.

The game is not just about roaming around doing random missions. Instead, the adventure is broken up into multiple chapters, each with multiple tasks to complete before moving on to the next. For example, recruiting nearly 30 students to join Dumbledore's Army, the ones that believe Harry's story on he who's name must not be spoken (Voldemort's) return, and who wish to train to combat this new evil.
You have to track the kids down and some would join if you talk to them, but the Others require you to complete said tasks to convince them to join.
There are no time limits to these missions, and you can have multiple tasks active at once. This helps keep a good balance between being free to explore and always feeling like you have something to do.
Hogwarts is quite a confusing place to navigate around, but there is a few ways to make it easier. Some of the paintings in the hallways will open up to reveal shortcuts if you complete certain tasks for them.
There is a map which does make it easier to use, once you figure it out. When you open up the map screen, you are able to highlight individual characters or locations. When you close the map, a set of ghostly footprints appear on the ground to direct you to the target. It's an easy way of dealing with the school's complicated design.
There is a hidden Room of Rewards where you can unlock things with Discovery points, like playing the min-games and doing the sub-tasks. Content like the videos in this room is hard to find these days, so well done EA.
There is a lot of use of spells in the game. Speaking of which, when you are in combat, or passing classes. It just takes a little practise to pass said things.
Advantages: Great fun casting your own spells Disadvantages: Unresponsive wiimote
Being a massive Harry Potter fan, and also a big fan of gaming, but never the Harry Potter games, i was a little put off by this game when it was first released. However when i then recieved this as a birthday present from my brother i felt i had to play it. To my surprise i found that it was actually rather a fun game!
The story line generally follows that of the book, you are Harry Potter and your first task is to try and recruit members for Dumbledores ... ...attempt to recruit also wants you to do something for him/ her in return. Obviosuly there is a lot of magic involved and this is where the fun really starts. The Wiimote acts as your wand, which means you get to wave it around and pretend that you are actually casting these spells, and i am not ashamed to say, i even said the spell aloud for added effect. The spells start off pretty basic, but soon you are studying advanced magic which ranges from ...

Advantages: use the wii remote to cast spells Disadvantages: slightly to short
Harry potter and the order of the pheonix(for nintendo wii is one of the best games i have played since i purchased my nintendo wii. However action packed this game is it is incredibly easy and slightly to short.
thankfully thats all thats wrong with this game and the fun filled hours more than make up for those downfalls and The characters in game voices are from the actors who played them in the films.
Also, the extras ingame have footage of ... ...in the film.
The game has incredible mini-games such as wizard chess, during which you play against all the other house teams.
Using the wii remote as a wand is what makes this game as good as it is with so many different spells and potions to master this game is well worth buying. ...

Advantages: Good music and accurate layout of Hogwarts Disadvantages: Poor gameplay and graphics, also VERY boring
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on Wii is very disappointing. The graphics are absolutely rubbish, with the characters' faces distorted and pixelated. The gameplay is the worst I have ever seen in my life! All you do is random tasks for random people, such as finding their lost owl, or collecting their lost socks from around Hogwarts. The climax of the game (fighting Voldemort) is also stupid, as all you have to do is shake the Wiimote ... ...of the box says that you get to play as Sirius Black and Dumbledore, but that only lasts for around 5 minutes out of the 8 hours of average gameplay. On top of that, you don't get to play as Ron or Hermione, which gets very dull most of the time.
The one good thing about the game which takes it off the 1/5 rating is the layout of Hogwarts. This is the first time that a game has protrayed all the secrets of the place, with the moving staircases and ...

Advantages: Many hours of spell casting and exploring to be had Disadvantages: Game play could seam quite slow and the controller can sometimes be hard to control
...of it. I have played Harry Potter on the PlayStation 2 and wanted to purchase this for my Wii console as I wanted to experience the game play with the Wii controller. To be honest I wasn't expecting much from the graphics but I am pleasantly surprised. All of the characters form the film come alive with this game and the detail of them is fantastic, you interact with all of the characters in the game they set you tasks and also pass comment at you ... ...to explore. If you love Harry Potter I doubt you will be disappointed. Sometimes the wand can be hard to point at certain objects in the castle and you have to reposition Harry a few times to be able to reach the objects. Also Harry's friends can sometimes get in the way when moving round the castle and you find yourself pushing them out of the way so that you can get past them.
If you love Harry Potter and you love the Wii controller buy this game. ...

Manufacturer's product description
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community has been denied the truth about the teenager's recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort. Fearing that Hogwarts' venerable Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is lying about Voldemort's return in order to undermine his power and take his job, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, appoints a new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students. But Professor Dolores Umbridge's Ministry-approved course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them and the entire wizarding community, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione and Ron, Harry takes matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves "Dumbledore's Army", Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.
