Advantages Advantages will last years, fun for all

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none for us

As many of you may already know I do like my son to have lots of games that we can play as a family because I think “games night” is a way of spending quality time interacting with your children and having fun as well. As such my son has a massive amount of games as he often receives them for Christmas and birthdays and one which he received last Christmas was Connect 4 which is made by Hasbro. What is it? Connect 4 is what I would call one of the classic games! I certainly remember playing it when I was younger and so it was natural that I would want to purchase it for my son. He actually had ... more

Advantages Advantages Fantastic Game, Easy To Play, Cheap, Easy To Set Up.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Kids Sometimes Lose The Pieces.

When browsing the toy aisle in Sainsbury's recently I saw that Connect 4 (amongst others) was up for offer on half price, just £4.50 and I promptly added one of these to my basket. The items needed to play the game are packaged in a sturdy cardboard box and within the box there is red counter, yellow counters and the plastic pieces needed to make up the connect 4 board. The legs and the board slot fairly well together and the board has two different ends, one for slotting the counters in and one for holding them in place. The bottom part (the holding them in place part) is a little flimsy and ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to play and set up, Simple skill game to get thinking

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None really

Here I go with a blast from the past; I like the fact that games I used to play when I was a child are still current nowadays. Connect Four: “This skilful game of strategy encourages premeditation and will provide you with hours of excellent entertainment!” My Findings: This game is made up of two different colour circular counters; they are blue and yellow with a rigged edge. The game is only a two player game which is good in one way as you can sit and play with someone one on one. But when you have two children wanting to play the game with you at the same time can be a little bit of a pain ... more

Advantages Advantages great game, good price, promotes thinking strategically

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sometimes can get a little repetitive, after a long time

Connect 4 another classic game that has stood the test of time, I remember playing this with my sisters when I was younger, we spent lots of time playing it and loved this game. The board for this game sits up vertically, it is blue hard plastic and has hollow circles in it so you can see through which colour of token is in the board. The frame is sturdy and not very easily broken, our connect 4 game has lasted for years and still shows no sign of wear and tear. There are two colours of tokens that you can play with, red or yellow. The aim of the game is to get 4 of your coloured tokens in a ... more

Advantages Advantages simple, easy to play, quick games

Disadvantages Disadvantages only 2 players, door at bottom can be temperamental

Raking through our games cupboard on a wet Sunday afternoon used to mean just one thing, out came the Connect 4. Because of this, the game has many a happy memory associated to it for me and we still play occasionally when we visit my relatives. A couple of years ago I bought my parents the Hasbro Connect 4 to replace the old one that we used as kids. This cost me just £5.99 at the time (it is currently priced at £8), which is a bargain price for a game. Inside the box the pieces for the game came bagged up in a polythene bag. There are not too many pieces, as those familiar to the game will ... more
