Advantages Nice picture, fun to do

Disadvantages None

In the Night Garden is a children's television show that we watch quite a lot in our house. The characters are all fun and interesting and the content itself is entertaining as well as educational. The show has an interesting philosophy behind it. According to an article I read, "In the Night Garden... is intended to help children relax and achieve calming relationships with parents. Producer Anne Wood stated "We became very aware of the anxiety surrounding the care of young children which manifested itself in all kind of directions; but the one big subject that came up again and again was bedtime. It's the classic time for tension between children who want to stay up and parents who want them to go to bed... so this is a programme about calming things down whereas most children's TV is about gee-ing everything up."

We tend to watch this at bedtime and I'm not sure, even if it does calm kids down its something nice to watch while we are drinking milk and winding down and so one we really enjoy. We have a number of cuddly toys from the series including IgglePiggle and Upsy Daisy and we also have some toys too including this puzzle which we received from our next door neighbours, another big In the Night Garden fan.

This puzzle is nice and classic and features a pretty In the Night Garden scene. The puzzle is square and so pretty normal as puzzles go, we tend to like puzzles with a bit of shape to them as I think there are a bit more exciting and a bit more of a challenge but anyway, square is still good, at least that way you can lay out the corners and do the rest of the puzzle from there. Its a fairly easy puzzle for adults but obviously provides a bit of a challenge for young kids. It contains 25 pieces and is recommended from aged 3 and upwards as it says in the now but I do it with my little girl who is two and a half and she loves doing it. The pieces are made of a thick card and fit together well, they're not stiff or difficult to put together so its easy for little hands to achieve.

The picture features three of the most, in my opinion popular characters on the show, Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka. The scene is shown inside a living room with you being able to see to the outside through the windows in the room. IgglePiggle and Upsy Daisy who are best friends are sitting together at the front of the picture, laughing and giggling about something and Makka Pakka is hiding in the background, around the corner of a wall, almost like he is hiding from them and trying to sneak up on them. Its a fun, exciting puzzle and one your In the Night Garden fans will love.
