Knowing we loved games, We were bought this game as a gift for our family. I don't know the source of the gift but a quick Google indicates that the game can be purchased for just under £5 (Amazon, Play)
When I first opened the box and glanced at the instructions I had a feeling this was going to be a difficult game to master, so much so that I put it back to tackle another day. That day was today. I tried to find some tutorials or videos online that would help, but we soon decided that playing the game itself would be best. I later found a demo at uk.pogo.com which shows the basic game and we were glad to know we had seemed to have got things correct.
The idea of the game is to collect sets, because of this it is compared to Rummy. Players start with 5 cards each and then the first player takes their turn.On each turn, the player must, take two cards from the pile and can then lay down up to 3 cards. The cards are either money, property or action cards. The first are pretty much self explanatory, but the action cards are what give it the twist. These allow you to collect rent, swap properties or even just steal a whole set. I could give really detailed information on the instructions, but as I said before it really is best to play the game to learn.
Once a player has 3 sets they are the winner. A game can last anything from 5 minutes to about 20. Each game is quite fast paced, unlike the board version. To be honest I don't think you can compare them as they are quite different. The only similarity really being the collection of property sets.We thoroughly enjoyed the game and because it is just a small box of cards it can be taken anywhere. It is ideal for holidays, both during travelling and whilst relaxing. Our youngest is 9 and had no problems grasping the game. Younger players would be fine but there is a certain amount of logic needed to play tactically.
The cards are good quality and fairly thick so should last well. They could also be wiped if needed though I doubt they would survive a dunking in water. Images are clear and each card is easy to understand. In conclusion a great game that can be played anywhere by anyone. Well worth the money and one I would thoroughly recommend.
