Advantages Great fun

Disadvantages none

Intro

On one of our recent nice days, I couldn’t help notice that the kids next doors seemed to be having some real good fun, I peeked out the window and they were playing soldiers of some kind. Now being that they constantly borrow my tools to fix their bikes and other broken toys I figured I had as much right to play soldiers as they did. I do tend to join in sometimes……………….well we all like playing don’t we?

Nerf

I’d seen these in the shops along the more sophisticated laser type games they make and thought they looked rather cool. I guess at about 9 inches long and quite a large oval barrel they are pretty much the perfect size for the kids next door, one’s eight and the other 11 I think. Some other kids from round about joined in. I thought that they always seem to have to new latest stuff lucky little blighters.

The gun is mostly blue with some yellow touches and seems to be a very sturdy made toy. How could I know unless I got a shot of it, so out I went. I teased about the tools and within five minutes was firing soft foam darts at them all. It did indeed feel solid what’s more I was having great fun. There are quite a few good hidey places round our street so I could see the attraction of playing soldiers.

The darts travelled a fair distance from the gun once fired and seemed to come out of the barrel quite fast. Being foam they were very safe, but I can remember thinking I ain’t getting in front of one of them things. Of course we had to pass the gun round so everyone had a turn, so eventually I was hit by one, and although it’s presence could definitely be felt it wasn’t as hard as I first thought.

The easy open flip enables reloading to be very fast which you obviously need if you are in a war. The Nerf logo on the side is quite cool and I guess that the gun is really quite cool especially if you are eight years old……………..or in fact almost fifty eight. These retail at around £8 according to the internet, and had my son and I been of younger years we might well have had one each.

Summary

I only played with it a short while the first time……………….yeh of course I went out for more. This is a real fun item and fires rapid darts which are both safe and scarey. It reloads in seconds so the excitement never stops, so and £8 it is a great buy.
