I bought this little gadget with the idea being that I could watch Freeview in my bedroom without the main areal, as the signal in my area is very strong and they supply a small areal, perfect I thought! I was wrong! I followed the instructions to the full and very easily, apart that you do need to change the settings for the country you're in, that wasn't mentioned in the instructions. When I came to scan for available channels zero were found, I thought a might have been doing something wrong, so I went downstairs to the main areal and scanned again, and I have to say that I got every single channel in perfect order, the facia used to play the TV was simple and easy to use. It was obvious to me then that the areal they supplied wasn't at all good enough and considering that our rooftop arial was just above my head, I doubt the one they supply is any good at all? I then tried a larger portable arial with booster and I managed to get 20 channels, though many of them were useless. The ones I wanted were very poor quality skipping around everywhere.
I would only recomend this product to people who want to use this from a rooftop digital arial, for roaming it's useless and the supplied arial needn't be in the box, you are able to record from it on to you hard drive, but as you may have guessed, I never got that far, so I can't comment, a total waste of money for what I needed. I'm sure they've had problems from customers before as the box has a sticky label saying "For Optimum Digital performance with digital TV, a good rooftop areal is recommended". They did not mention that the areal supplied just wouldn't work, remember the signal is very strong where I live, so if you have a weak signal don't be surprised at the results!
