Advantages: heals sore lips Disadvantages: not available in Czech rep. so I have to import
Carmex LipBalm
I have started to use Carmex lipbalm on a friend's recommendation and I was surprised to see and feel how well it worked! I've always suffered of dried and cracky lips particularly in winter and even if I always was equipped with lipbalms and spent quite some money on it as I preferred stuff like Labello, it never really had a long-term effect. Neutrogena wasn't all bad either, but I have to say Carmex was where the revolution in lip care has come.
Package
Carmex comes in a form of a lipstick, a little jar and a squeezable tube. The jars were introduced already back in 1937! All containers are in red+yellow and black which remind me of beeswax somehow. It gives impression of sth natural and good for your health.

Advantages: Works well, convenient to carry Disadvantages: None for me
As you may already know from my previous reviews I always use lipbalm. I just cannot stand the sensation of my lips feeling dry and use the balms all year round to combat the dryness caused by the sun and wind. There are little pots and tubes all over the place here in the cottage - in drawers, in my handbag, next to the bed - you name it!

Advantages: Makes lips soft, lasts for a long time, SPF 15 and easy to find in your bag! Disadvantages: Fortunately for Carmex I can't think of any...Perhaps not good if you don't like a light menthol?
menthol, camphor and beeswax which leave the tingling sensation) which is pleasant - I think it's this that encourages the rosy-ness. You immediately feel the moisturising side of the balm going to work - so it's great for being out in the sun, especially given that it's SPF 15. Likewise, I imagine it's good for relief of chapped lips in the windy, wintery weather. We'll see when that rolls around, but I'm pretty confident about that.
A small amount gives the lips a nice healthy completely natural look, but a heavier application would show up glossy, so it depends on what kind of look you prefer. When I say 'glossy' though, we're not talking about the shiny wet look kind, just a muted gloss - after all it is a balm.
Luckily this lipbalm is long lasting - I apply once in the morning and sometimes once at lunch if I'm going out and I feel ...
