The Belkin WirelessNotebookCard is a good product. the card is only for LAPTOPS not for computers. the good thing about this product is that just say your in your bedroom or in your kitcen or maybe in your garden you can use the internet without any wires and no hassle at all. but you have to remember you need to have a belkin wireless internet network to make this product work for your laptop. I have my very own Belkin WirelessGNotebookcard and it runs as fast as when i use to have an ethernet connection i.e. cable internet connection. When i bought my newtwork card it cost me £25.00 but on ciao they are giving you a really good price for it so i recommend buying the product. if you have any questions please let me know and i will be at assistance

Advantages: good brand, lifetime guarantee, easy to install, good customer support Disadvantages: poor signal strength, frequent breaks in signal, not universally compatible
This router is quite compact compared to some and quite attractive in comparison also.
reasonably priced in comparison to the competition and offering a lifetime guarantee that most competitors do not.
Used this product on NTL broadband with the Belkin wirelessg desktop card adapter.
The installation was quick and painless and the instructions simple and clear.
The signal strength was frequently poor with the connection running slow the majority of the time
The connection was also very unstable with frequent periods where the connection was lost or broken. Im not sure if this was down to the card the router or a combination of both.
The box states that this is a high speed router but I found it to be slow and quite a lot of trouble with an unreliable connection being sent/picked up.

Advantages: Reasonable price Disadvantages: No Linux drivers
I finally took the plunge and bought a wireless router (Netgear DG834G) but then needed either a usb dongle NIC or PC Card (PCMCIA) NIC. At first I borrowed a USB dongle from a friend. This worked fine but the connection to the back of my laptop appeared weak. That made my decision for me....it had to be the stronger PC Card variant. I chose the Belkin F5D7010 as it was cheaper than the other branded rivals, and I could pick it up from my local Argos that day (We have no decent computer shops round here).
Installation was a little different to the supplied instructions and I found it important to follow the installation program. Also when using XP you need to select the option to use the built in XP configuration software if you intend to use WPA security as only WEP is supported by the Belkin software.
Once installed configuration ...

Manufacturer's product description
Hawking Technologies' HWC54D Wireless-G Cardbus PC Card Adapter features the latest in wireless technology. Standard wireless cardbus cards use low power antennas that deliver a circular signal pattern. This type of pattern receives interference from the metal components within the laptop resulting in a drop in wireless performance and distance. The HWC54D solves this problem with its advanced directional 6 dBi Hi-Gain Antenna that delivers a strong concentrated signal in the direction of the wireless access point to establish a strong wireless link resulting in a significant increase in operating distance (up to 200%). The Hi-Gain antenna position swivels and folds to make finding an optimal signal easy and simple. When you are not using the card, simply fold the antenna down for compact, safe, easy transport.
