Advantages nice scent, looks nice

Disadvantages doesn't last very long

Review summary
Air Wick Crystal Air is a nice and relatively discreet air freshener - looks and smells nice but doesn't last for very long
Since getting our kitten and having a litter tray in the house I have become quite conscious about it smelling even though I clean it out daily. I do have a candle tart burner which I regularly use as I am quite paranoid about it smelling bad. I am unable to use spray air freshener often as my daughter does cough a lot if I use them and I don't like to spray around the kitten either. I decided to buy an air freshener that I could just leave in the kitchen near the litter tray though I really don't like those gel ones that come in a white plastic tub. I came across an Airwick Crystal Air freshener in the pound shop so picked one of those up to try.

The Airwick Crystal Air comes quite simply packed on a piece of cardboard and is protected by a plastic cover. The background is covered in berries and is mainly red with a large orange drop stating it contains essential oils. As the cover is transparent you can see the air freshener clearly and at a glance you can see that it is more modern looking than many other air fresheners. Opening the packaging you will see that the air freshener is circular tablet type which looks more like an ornament than a household product. Inside the glass there are coloured 'waves' which hold the gel that the fragrance is contained in.

In order to use the Airwick Crystal Air freshener you need to remove a foil seal from the back which prevents the scent being released. As soon as this is removed you immediately smell it and it is quite strong but once it is set on the shelf (or wherever you decide to place it) it does settle and is not as noticeable. I have mine above the cat litter tray (well out of reach from the kitten and my daughter) so that it masks any smells that come from the tray before I can get to it to clean it out.

My particular air freshener is the berries and spice variety but at Christmas time I like to buy the Mulled Wine and Crackling Fire as I just adore the smell of it. There are others available and come in a range of colours also to suit most decor.

I bought this air freshener for a pound and they are said to last for up to four weeks but I have to say I find that after just a couple of weeks I am no longer able to smell the fragrance and have to replace it. For that price though I can't complain as it does work for that period of time and it means I don't have to spray aerosols in my house.

Thank you for reading my review.
