When it comes to making my home smell nice, I usually just opt for a can of air freshener. That normally does the trick instantly. But, the smell doesn't last, however nice it smells at the time! Okay, so they are cheap, and worth the money if you want a quick fix. But, now I've got a crazy little pup causing mayhem in my home, I find myself needing something a bit more permanent to leave the rooms smelling sweet, instead of the puppy smell - you know how it is! He's a sweet little fella, but boy, does he smell!
Anyway, I was browsing the isle in Tesco's a while back at all the various air fresheners for sale, and opted for the Air Wick plug in - lavender and camomile aroma. It doesn't come all that cheap, costing me £3.89 for the plug in itself and, according to the packet, a 'free' adjustable plug in. You only pay for the fragrance. So, you pay once for the plug, then just stock up on the refills. Expensive it may be, but decided on purchasing this anyway after reading the box.
The fragrance and plug in come in a lilac coloured box with the air wick and named fragrance on the front. There is a small tester on the front which you can smell before you buy. Very handy, I thought! So, I did just that, and smelt it. And very nice it was too! On one side of the box are the other kinds of fragrances they do for you to try. On the other side of the box is a picture of what exactly you are buying. On the back of the box are the directions and all the information you need to know about this. The contact details can be found on the bottom of the box.
This is the first time I have ever used one of these, so read the instructions carefully before actually using the plug in. It's quite simple really. What I like about the instructions on the box is that they give you directions in picture form and in written form. Quite good if you prefer one or the other!
Firstly, you need to remove the plastic top from the small bottle of fragrance. This is easily unscrewed. You have to then firmly insert the bottle into the underside of the plug in unit (their words, not mine). You will hear a 'click', and ensure that the fragrance bottle is kept vertical at all times. You then plug the whole unit into an available socket and switch it on. There are settings from numbers 1 - 5. Setting 1 is for a low fragrance, and setting 5 is for a high fragrance. I've got mine on number 5 at the moment. Instructions are also given on how to replace a fragrance bottle.
Underneath the instructions is a list of safety information like keeping away from pets and children, not to operate with wet hands or metal objects. It states not to use this product continuously and to switch off at night. There are many other safety tips for you to read, which is worth reading before you use. It also tells you want it contains.
This product may produce an allergic reaction. It says also on the packet that it is harmful to aquatic organisms. It may cause long term effects in an aquatic environment. This air freshener should last about 80 days, if you follow the guidelines. So, for £3.89, it shouldn't really work out that bad if it lasts that long. I find it doesn't quite last that long, but it does last a good while. Certainly for a couple of months at the very least.
But, I've told you all about this, and not told you want the aroma is like! Well, I really like this aroma, and am so glad I bought it. I like lavender anyway, so didn't hesitate when I saw this on the shelves. The aroma of the lavender is definately prominant. But, it's definately not an overpowering smell. It's very subtle, but there. I have found it lingers round the whole flat, and makes it smell really warm and comforting. I hope it helps me sleep tonight!! I'm really pleased with the way the aroma travels around the flat, and doesn't disappear. It has a soft, subtle, constant aroma of lavender there. The camomile isn't quite so prominant as the lavender, but you will notice it in the air.
So, in summary, I'm pretty chuffed with this! Like I said at the beginning, this is the first time I have used this, so was a little unsure of what to expect. But, I am happy with this. No more doggie smells! Woohoo!
As with the contact details on the bottom of the box, you will also find the guarantee.

Advantages: Continuous fragrance Disadvantages: The fragrance!
We are currently trying to sell our house. We have two cats, and two small children, and despite having scrubbed the place from top to bottom before putting it on the market, we became conscious of the fact that some viewers seemed to notice the fact that we have pets. I was mortified of course.
I looked for a suitable air freshener on my next visit to Tesco. I already had a room spray, which I used before a viewing, but the problem with this is ... ...am not always able to get back to the house before viewers arrive. So I decided to purchase a "plug-in" gadget, which releases fragrance constantly.
I plumped for a pack containing the Air Wick plug-in diffuser, and a bottle of "Relaxing Lavender and Camomile" fragrance with essential oils. (My estate agent advised me that lavender should create the right atmosphere).
Appearance
The diffuser unit is a white plastic dome, about two inches high ...

Advantages: You control the fragrance level. Disadvantages: Cant use if you have Aquarium.
...over the next few months Haze will cease to exist and Air Wick will take its place. It may be just me but Haze sounds so much better for an Air Freshener than Air Wick, no doubt though they will have done some research or maybe the Company has changed hands, who knows.
Anyway these are the people that make the Crystal Air those lovely glass ones with the wavy lines of scent, they also do a Car fragrance and a Click Spray for the bathroom, that works ... ...I also like the candles they make, they have lovely smells to them.
Recently though I have been converted, I had gone down to Asda with hubby to do some shopping and I saw amid the array of smelly stuff for the house another Haze/Airwick product.
It was a Plug In Aromatherapy Diffuser with Lavender and Camomile, give it a try I thought, when I read on the back it contained 25% Essential Oils that made my mind up.
I bought the pack which contained ...

...hasn't tried it. Obviously with regard to fish owners or people who suffer from allergies then this certainly isn't the air freshener for you but to everyone else, give it a go. 10/10 for Haze Air Wick Lavender and Camomile.
Thanks for reading x x x ...
