Advantages Advantages semi-playable multiplayer, engine allowing different abilities, quite a good speech at the end

Disadvantages Disadvantages tired and generic story, poor dialogue, one dimensional characters, bugs, bad graphics

You play the part of Sergeant Shane Carpenter, a soldier fighting for a gigantic corporation called Mantel in a dystopian future. Having been convinced by Mantel Propaganda into dropping out of college, he joined to ‘be a hero’. Carpenter arrives in the Boa region of South America, where Mantel troops have been dispatched in force to liberate the country from a rebel group known as "the Promise Hand" which is accused of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. Shane meets his squadmates; Sergeant Morgan Duvall, who leads the squad despite being the same rank as Carpenter, Lance Corporal ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun and strangely addictive. Imaginative plot

Disadvantages Disadvantages Unpolished. Mediocre graphics. Seems unfinished. Boring cut-scenes

I was quite excited when I bought Haze; the lengthy delays and media hype got me expecting a truly "next-gen" experience. The excitement was, unfortunatly, short-lived. You could stop reading this review now, go away and never buy the game, beacuse this is neither a revolutionary FPS nor a contender to the likes of CoD4. The poor graphics don't show the PS3's potential, and I wasn't blown away by the gameplay. However if we forget about all of that and take haze at face-value, we begin to uncover what is actually quite a fun game. Story The game is set a few decades in the future, where rebels ... more

Advantages Advantages Very fun - Good length campaign

Disadvantages Disadvantages First bit of game - Lack of power for weapons

I only really play first person shooters - so I was bound to pick this up - I am glad I did. The graphics - they are not call of duty standard - but everything looks realistic - everything looks sharp. The character models are really good - the facial animations are gret - the lips move well - looks like they are actually talking. The environments are good - there aren't that many - but the environments you come across look really good - like they are real places - just with hundreds of people throwing grenades - and firing rounds of bullets. The sound - this isn't quite as good - you shoot a ... more

Advantages Advantages New in the terms of FPSs

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Short

The problem is threefold. Firstly, the development team at some point forgot they were creating an interactive video game. And instead we are presented with a CGI movie with only periodic user participation. Sadly, the lengthy and laborious cut scenes are non-skipable as the developers clearly considered it crucial that the user endured them in their entirety. Secondly, the plot is truly dire. It is gut wrenchingly cliched and tries to make a moral impact and an ethical point. Only it does it really badly. It's clear to me, and anyone else for that matter, that substance dependancy is usually ... more

Advantages Advantages fun, good game to complete, campaign mode and online, cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cant skip the movie scenes, needs more levels or scenarios

This game is based in the year 2048 and a company called Mantel Global Industries have created a nutritional supplement called Nectar to give to there soldiers. The Nectar stimulates the right side of the brain giving you a quicker awareness and is useful in combat when taking down enemies. Beware too much Nectar will make your character overdose and make him a little bit uncontrollable with him shooting at everything including your team. I have heard this game have bad reviews in the past so I thought I would buy it myself and try it out. I also don’t always go on people's reviews. I like to ... more
