Philips SBCHC8440 Review
Advantages: light, smallish, built-in volume control, good sound quality Disadvantages: crackle when moved, strange base
I bought this wireless headphone from argos for £33.99. I have only had one main issue with these headphones, and that is when i move my head slightly, the headphones lose connection, or crackle and that is only resolved by smacking the headphones or moving again. Other irritating things about this set is that the base has its own headphone jack built in, so you cant do certain things with it. the other odd thing about these is that the base uses ... ...i just found that a bit wierd. The headphones also dont give you much of a heads-up about a low battery level. when it first went dead, the headphones just died suddenly, right in the middle of an action scene in the film i was watching.
I was happy with the built in volume control on the headphones as well. the headphones are comfortable to wear and the headphones are light. that is one major issue i find with some wireless headphones, is that ...

Philips SHS390
Advantages: Good bass beat vents that allow air movement for better sound projection Disadvantages: Ear pads may wear off after 4 to 5 months
I bought this headphone in August from a shop selling electronics. Basically, this headphone provides extra bass to your ears and the ear cushions perfectly align with the area around your ears, which offer maximum comfort in long periods. I found that the headphone's bass beat vents are actually made of Neodymium magnet, which enhances bass performance and greater sensitivity. The sound quality is average. When you play music and adjust it to a ... ...actually hear some sound.
Cable wise, the SHS390 comes with a single-sided cable. This means that the cable is only connected to just one side, to reduce the risk of entangling the cable, which previously happened to me when I was using other headphones. However, the bad side of using this headphone is that, it does not cancel much sound, which will reduce listening comfort. One more thing is that the ear pads will actually wear off after you have ...

Philips SHS 4701, comfortable earphones at last
Advantages: The fit & design. Comfy, brilliant sound & base, owning a pair! Disadvantages: Not owning a pair!!!!! The price is high at £19.99, see below about price
...local shop & found these Philips earphones, there are about 3 sorts in the range, well there were in this shop, but these were specifically packaged mentioning ipods, so I thought that was the one more interesting.
Now, they are like a little speaker on a disc thats on an earpiece that clips over your ear. So it doesnt fit in your ear it just sits over & behind your ear with a disc in front of it. The ear clip piece moves towards & away from the ... ...it over your ear & then push it back towards your ear till its comfortable for you, fitting all ear shapes & sizes.
I wondered if it would hurt your ears & I must say after about 3 hours you know you have them on, but ive just loosened them off a bit, theyre still firmly on my head, Ive been walking round the house & dancing away & I havent felt like they would come off my head once.
Now to the important bit, quality!
Im am very impressed with ...

HP 400
Advantages: design, price, sound isaolation, bass-line Disadvantages: materials, a lot of plastic, no volume controller, not competely packable
...(exeption is leather head cover), have much less weight and look much cheaper- in design and materials. But still, compared to similar headphones from other companies, Philips still has pretty good sound for the price (mine cost only 20£), though it seems that Philips is cutting off on quality. ...

versatile, great sounding headphones
Advantages: surprisingly good sound, flat folding, great wearing comfort Disadvantages: none so far
...as well. One smart thing Philips did was to use fabric wrap over the speakers, instead of the usual sponge-like material - which not only facilitate perspiration and bacteria accumulation, but also wear out pretty fast. The fabric is good looking, resistent and washable (if that's your thing...).
Last but not least, they fold in a way that they become really flat, making them easy to fit into any space. I have a pocket on my laptop case that is ...
