Quality for good value
Advantages: Sennheisers reputation Disadvantages: No 45 degree headphone jack
...time. You might think Sennheiser equals expensive but that's not the case here, these headphones can purchased for less then 28 quid!
I found mine on Amazon about 2 years ago & they cost me £15 then but that was on special offer (reduced from £25 as I recall). These are the can-style over ear phones with a connecting padded band that goes over the skull, they come in classic black and look pretty sleek but are strong & sturdy and not likely to break ... ...and their still going strong with no marks or scuffs either, these little blighters are very tough & durable!).
They've got an obscenely long lead but come with a great plastic gizmo that allows you to wrap the excess wire around it, it also has a beltclip allowing you to secure it to your clothes on a belt or to a pocket.
They are pretty big & chunky headphones but they aren't heavy at all, their comfortable to wear but can get a tad sweaty around ...

Audiophile headphones at a reasonable price
Advantages: Great sound quality, comfortable Disadvantages: Long cable, large connector, slight lack of bass
Introduction Sennheiser are a well known name in the music industry in terms for high quality, producing mainly headphones and microphones, both for businesses and personal use. The HD555s are one of Sennheiser's "audiophile" offerings according to the website, sitting between the HD515 and the HD595. Currently selling for £69.99, these are hardly the cheapest headphones, but with so many rave reviews around I decided it was worth at least ... ...needed though - why don't Sennheiser offer a shorter cable? The only place to get them pre-made is through audiophile websites, and these sites are hardly cheap - $70 for a cable? These negative points aside, I was still very much looking forward to trying them out, so I connected them up to my PC... Testing To test them, I decided to play 3 very different tracks, from a variety of genres. The first was Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5 In C Minor: ...

Loud crunchy bassy headphones
Advantages: Rather bassy, the volume is quite loud by default, cheap, good quality sound, Disadvantages: long periods, ears/jaw tends to hurt! Poor quality build.
...audio/visual knowledge. I knew that Sennheiser was a good manufacturer of headphones so I was quite eager to buy them after reading good reviews. The sound produced by the headphones is just short of amazing; especially for the price I paid for it. Just £40! The bass is a bit 'chunky' at times but I quite like my bass to be thick and the vocals comes out really well. When checking out older albums I used to spin a lot, I begin to notice details I ... ...the rhythm of the song or the drumming that seeps out in between the guitar/bass really well. Noise-cancelling feature is quite good here, even though it is not a must as it isn't quite closed. But it performs quite well, I was blasting my heavy metal music at top volume in a packed library and no-one gave me a glance, which shows how it doesn't leak sound out of the headphones. Bonus! Also, I can hardly hear a thing coming from outside; if I'm approaching ...

Wired For Sound
Advantages: Brilliant sound for the price Disadvantages: No sound limiter, long cable
...before I decided on the Sennheiser HD201 closed back headphones which were selling on Amazon.co.uk for just £14.99. The black and silver headphones are really comfortable to wear, the padded headband is adjustable so even if you have a big head they should fit you nicely. The part that sits on your ears swivels slightly from side to side giving it a bit of leeway to make sure the ear cups sit exactly in the right position over your ears and this ... ...going to be much use. Sennheiser claim that these headphones are responsive between 21-18000Hz and when I tested this out I found it to be accurate. The test I did on YouTube also showed impressive surround sound qualities with the sound coming from different directions provided of courser you remember to check the cups for the mini L and R icons before you put them on! A test is one thing but the headphones also perform well with all of my listening ...
