I'm writing this to take up Trampus' challenge to write on this particular category, and it will probably show in the op. Questions that spring to mind are "What do you write about the category itself". By it's nature it is just a bucket or filing cabinet to dump things in. The things within the category are other sub categories and eventually products , which may be real products such as books or moisturising creams, or concepts such as "advice on giving up smoking".
The Health and Beauty category in Ciao is divided between looking good and making people either fancy you or be jealous of you, and being healthy (from keeping alive to being very fit).
The four main sub categories in "Health and Beauty" are:
Beauty
This contains information on loads of "girly" beauty products , sectioned for easy access as well as advice on how to make yourself more attractive. Unfortunately for people like myself no amount of beauty products will rescue me.
Fitness
Surprisingly there isn't a member advice section under fitness, it just Gyms, Equipment and Nutritional Products. Maybe someone could suggest the advice section, though not me, because my idea of a marathon is ten pints of Guinness followed by a curry, though I don't do that too often these days.
Health
This is a fairly wide ranging section which allows people to post opinions on many health issues including diet, giving up smoking, pregnancy and many more. This is probably the best section under health and beauty. If you have a health related problem or question then you can probably resolve it here. Also if you have any tips or information that is vaguely health related you will probably find a category here to disseminate your information.
This relates to books, magazines and Websites, so if you want further reading materials on health related subjects then you'll find them here.
As you may have gathered I'm not particularly into pro active fitness. I walk a lot, eat fruit and don't take sugar, but don't attend a gym or take diet supplements or explicitly diet (which may explain why I'm an 18 stone fat b*****d as my ex wife was prone to describe me), but I feel Ok. However if I was to take up some kind of fitness regime then I would use this category to get some information and would certainly recommend it to others.
So I've taken up Trampus' challenge , and managed to write more than 120 words on it. The category is wide ranging and apparently ops in there tend get a high amount of reads, but you wont find too many of mine in there.
