How Covered Are You ??
Advantages: Super Quick Service, Great Facilities Disadvantages: Expensive
...private health care policies and Bupa is probably about as big as they come in the sense of customers and facilities available for their customers. Everyone who works in this country pays their stamp and therefore pays for NHS treatment should you need it but the reality of it in the real world is that although if you are in urgent and life threatening need of treatment you will get it but otherwise you could be waiting years. I have always thought ... ...I was offered a free Bupa healthcare cover through a security job I had joined so of course I took it. About 6 months after joining I went to the doctor as I had developed a large lump in my groin and he examined me and said that I had a Hernia that needed urgent attention as left untreated my Stomach could become strangulated and could die. I rushed down to Accident and Emergency as told by my doctor and waited 3 hours to be told that I had about ...

payment protection
Advantages: NONE Disadvantages: Highly stressful experience
...mad! I also hold the Halifax bank partly responsible as they recommended that I take out this insurance, but, believe me, after the hassle and stress that I have had becasuse of them during the last few months, it will be a cold day in hell before I do business with this bunch of imbeciles again. I would advise anyone to avoid them like the plague. ...

HSA - a great help in times of expense
Advantages: Pays for glasses and other things Disadvantages: none really
...two years ago I mentioned HSA in one of my reviews, I thought it was time to jot down a few words about them.
They are simply a scheme that pays out whenever you have to spend money on health related treatments and services.
I joined several years ago by going to the website and signing up.
There are several levels of cover that you can choose, I opted for the middle level that costs me £16 per month. For this level of cover I can receive £30 ... ...your optician's prescription and an HSA claim form in the replay paid envelope and receive payment of the benefit into your bank account. repeat on an annual basis.
I am due to spend a few nights in hospital later this year for an operation. I will receive £30 per night, all I have to do is get the hospital to provide me with a letter detailing the nights I spend with them, send it with a claim form and receive payment.
There really isn't much ...

Being ill has its benefits
Advantages: Getting paid for every day expenses Disadvantages: None that i can think of
...a few years ago by BHSF Ltd and since then nothing much has changed. We still pay in each month by direct debit and every time we have any treatment done we send them the receipts and they send us the money back in the form of a cheque. (They will also put it back into your account by transfer if you prefare).
So what else does it cover?
I will give you the maximum amounts paid back in each category, the first amount is for the minimum payment ... ...scheme.

Tel - 0800 622552 I really can't recommend this health scheme to highly, i have checked out other similar schemes but none other have the quantity of areas that can be claimed for, also the free personnal accident cover isn't included on some of the others, so that is a nice bonus. (Not that you would ever want this to happen just ...

Is it value for you?
Advantages: Can Help towards medical costs Disadvantages: In many cases you are paying more than you claim back
...have been a member of Westfield for over 20 years but have now decided to down grade from the 3rd option to the lowest.
Until recently I only claimed the dental grant. On an average, not needing much treatment I spend £40 per year on check up, clean and polish. Having paid £285.84 over a two year period I have paid £205 for the priviledge of getting back £80. I now wear glasses and claimed £120 towards them but have still overpaid by £85. The rates ... ...by all means consider joining Westfield otherwise weigh up the cost against what you will normally claim. This is not private medical insurance getting you into hospital quicker. It is a scheme to recoupe the costs you have paid, make sure that is what you are doing.
On my downgraded sheme I will pay £103.92 over 2 years. (instead of £306.72 in my current scheme from Jan 2006)However I will use the £37 towards my glasses and the £52 over 2 years ...
