Review of Health Point Rescue Oil
The Product
I am reviewing the 40ml size, the product is also available in a 75ml package. Rescue oil is a blend of natural oils designed to sooth and improve the condition of skin. It can be either massaged into the skin or added to bath water.
Rescue Oil can help the following conditions: - Ageing Skin - Scar Tissue - Blemished Skin - Treatment & Prevention of stretch marks - Before and after pregnancy massage oil - After sun treatment - Dry dehydrated skin conditions
Packaging
Health Point Rescue Oil is presented in a simple white cardboard box with an orange tear-drop logo and the product name,, ingredients and usage advice in an orange font. The box is small, measuring just 4.25 ins x 2ins. Inside the box is your bottle containing 40ml of rescue oil. It is a very simple, clear plastic container with a white screw top cap containing the orange coloured oil. The oil is accessed
through a small hole in the bottle neck.
Both outer packaging and the plastic bottle are recyclable where facilities exist.
Ingredients and Warnings
The blend of oils are as follows, Evening Primrose oil, Almond oil, Peach kernel oil and Vitamin E.
These ingredients are all known for their benefits to skin and have long been used in the cosmetic industry.
Rescue Oil is safe to use on all age groups. Naturally anyone sensitive to any of these ingredients should exercise caution. Rescue oil should not be ingested.
Scent, Texture and Usage
The scent of the oil is somewhat distinctive, not strong or unpleasant, but rather hard to describe. The first scent I can detect is a feint peach-like aroma, this mixed with an underlying almond fragrance makes for a mild and pleasantly stimulating oil.
The oil itself is very silky in texture, it is quickly absorbed into the skin and leaves no sticky residue, unlike some oils. The oil is accessed via a small hole in the plastic disc in the neck of the bottle. It is thick enough not to pour out, yet thin enough to flow easily. I have used the Rescue oil on all areas of my body, including my face. I usually rub a little Rescue Oil into my arms, legs and heels after a shower and I have to say the skin texture has improved noticeably since I discovered this oil.
The manufacturer states that some scars may need several months of use before a visible improvement is noticed. I found the improvement of my own skin was much quicker than this, but of course this depends on skin type and the severity of the scarring you wish to treat!
I have used Rescue Oil on my face, I have some mild facial scarring, consisting of thread like scars on my forehead following a road accident, brown pigmentation marks (due to age and sun damage) and along with most other women in their 50's, the dreaded lines and wrinkles! Rescue Oil isn't a miracle worker, but it has helped reduce the appearance of all these conditions.
My mother who is in her late 70's, suffers with a skin condition, acute cellulitis, on her legs. This is a distressing condition where the skin on her shins has become very thin and almost transparent in appearance. The main treatment for this antibiotics, when the skin breaks and becomes infected, with moisturising creams/lotions for keeping the skin supple when it is unbroken. She has spent a fortune on various moisturisers with little effect, however Rescue Oil has helped her keep the skin in a manageable condition.
Availability and Cost
This is where Rescue Oil comes into it's own! I have long been a user of the well known brand 'Bio Oil' and had been paying in the region of £8-£9 for a small bottle. Rescue Oil is a fraction of the cost and the ingredients are virtually identical. I am currently buying Rescue Oil from Poundland for £1 for a 40ml bottle! I have seen it in other High street outlets at various prices, although Poundland's has to be the best price around!
Health Point Rescue Oil is available online from www.amazon.co.uk for £2.04 or from www.auravita.com for £1.95.
My Thoughts and Conclusion
OK, I admit it, I'm a cheapskate, I will always seek out the lowest possible price and get a real buzz out of finding a bargain! Seriously, I live on a very tight budget and simply don't have a great deal of spare cash, so to find a product that actually works, costs very little and is as good as, if not better, than something I was using previously (Bio Oil), is a real bonus to me.
I would recommend Rescue Oil to anyone, it is easy and pleasant to use, helps a wide range of skin problems and makes a great all round skin conditioner at a real bargain basement price. Give it a go, it's worth it!
