Heineken is Holland’s most famous brand of beer and is the leading selling and most well known brand internationally.
Heineken is one of my favourite beers primarily because it is available wherever I travel. As some of you may be aware I travel regularly to West Africa and Asia and Heineken is always available wherever I go, be it in cans or bottles.
Heineken is a quality lager beer that provides a perfect balance being not too strong and not too light.
The quality of the beer has never been in question although taste may differ slightly depending on the way that you have it i.e. in bottles or cans or from the tap. However the difference is nominal and the overall product oozes quality.
What I find most favourable about this beer is its very refreshing values. Unlike some beers that tend to fill you up and slow you down, Heineken instead has a refreshing, almost pick me up, kind of taste and texture. Certainly one could down considerably more Heineken (and my other favourite brand Carlsberg) than one could other lager/bitters. The only beer that I could consume more of would be Budweiser but as I stated in an early opinion this is just too light for me.
Heineken has a fine history and as you are all aware is produced in Holland and a pride of all the Dutch.
The Heineken Company was born in December 1863 by Gerard Heineken. Since then it has risen to become the second largest producer of beer in the world and the most famous beer internationally. Heineken is brewed and bottled in over twenty different countries worldwide thus establishing it as a truly international brand.
The contents of Heineken Lager consist of the basic malted barley, hops and water. It is the unique brewing methods applied for over more than a century that have made this beer what it is today.
I usually purchase mine from Tesco’s. If you purchase the pack of 12 x 440ml cans then they cost £12.99. Alternatively you can pick up the 4 x 440ml at £4.39.
Although the price is slightly higher than other brands like Stella, Grolsh, Carlsberg and others, the difference is not that significant if you calculate the price per can.
Overall I once again reiterate that not only is this a very refreshing beer but the main reason for my preference of it is because it is a beer that is available wherever I go, be it here in the U.K. or anywhere else in the world.
The saying “Heineken Reaches the Parts Other Beers Cannot Reach” can be applied to its intended meaning and also to the unintended one of it reaching every part of the world which no other beer in this world can boast of.
