Heinz has long been a trusted name in Baby foods, but with my last baby I noticed something I thought was quite irresponsable of them.
Babies under 6 months are not supposed to eat anything containing gluten. So why on earth do Heinz label some foods suitable from 4 months, when they do contain gluten?
It seems to be in the pasta dinners mainly, but do read the labels on these to be certain that you aren't giving your baby something that could potentially cause him/her problems.
Ask your health visitors about why your child shouldn't eat gluten before 6 months old.
Some theories are that autism is linked to gluten intolerance....does that mean we mothers and fathers could be inadvertantly giving our children a higher chance of being autistic? That I am not sure of, but it does need thinking about.
I'll leave the choice up to you.
Having said that, if I am in a rush and have nothing ready, I do still feed Heinz to my baby, but he is now almost 9 months and well past the danger zone.
I would recommend Heinz to anyone with a baby over 6 months, but not under
