I bought Heinz baby food for my daughter. Twice in 3 months I had to ring up about foreign objects in the baby food. The first time it was a large tough piece of onion skin that my daughter spat out. Heinz said all the ingredients come to them ready prepared it must of been in before it got to them. The second time it was worse, in a jar of baby dessert i fed my baby a piece of stiff adheisive tape, she started coughing on it and i jokingly remarked that theres no bones in a friut dessert. She kept coughing and started to cry so i put my finger in her mouth and pulled out the tape. Heinz said it was tape but had no idea how it got there. The first occasion we got £5.00 in heinz vouchers, the second time I told them we would not buy heinz again and they compensated her with £20 postal order for the discomfort. I recieved a letter today warning me that some babyfood had been recalled due to the jars being mislabled with the wrong ingredients!

Shocking and revealing account, well done. Quite a faceless response you received from Heinz. You might be, and have been, slightly criticised for not describing the product... but then you also stated in your review that Heinz themselves claim to have labelled products incorrectly...it is therefore fair to say, given your experience and what Heinz have said, that reviewing the product constitution is quite meaningless anyway at this juncture. Nice op but I think it's in the wrong category as you haven't really told us much about the actual product. I suggest you ask Ciao to move it to the 'buyer beware'
Advantages: Ready to use straight from tin/jar Disadvantages: You don't know what all the ingredients are unlike when you make your own baby food from scratch.
