I have used Heinz baby food for all of my children and will continue to do so with my new baby.
Heinz do a variety of different baby foods including tins, jars and packets. There are different types of foods for different age groups.
4 months + These meals are designed to be very smooth, there are absoluely no lumps and so make it very easy to introduce your child to new flavours.
7 Months + These meals are very similar to the 4 months + foods but they do contain small lumps which incourage your child to learn to chew.
12 months + These meals are basically a normal meal "mushed" up and incourage your child to progress on to "adult" food.
As well as main meals Heinz also do a huge range of desserts and baby drinks.
We particulally like the fact than you can just spoon out the amount of food that you want, heat it up and save the rest in the fridge for the next day (must be in a suitable covered container and not in the can. The packets of food can be a little hard to master as you have to get the right amount of food to water/milk in order to get the right consistency or it ends up really runny or really lumpy. Once you have got the hang of this it is pretty easy.
Prices for the tins and jars vary from place to place but a tin is usually priced at around 34p and a jar at around 40p. Boots and Tescos often have special deals on Heinz baby food where you buy 6 and pay for 5 or buy 2 get 1 free. Packets of foods are priced at around 99p.
Although Heinz baby foods work out more expensive than cooking a meal yourself and then liquidising it, they are far easier and quicker and there is the added advantage of not having to cook separate portions wihout salt etc.
Most Heinz Baby foods are Milk, Egg, Wheat and Gluten Free to allow feeding for all dietry needs. They also of course have no added sugar or salt.
