I have tried everything to get my daughter to eat solids, with no luck. She was, what i thought a fussy eater. That was until ... I came across Heinz Mums Own. Mums own food doesn't contain any artificial additives or any G.M. foods. All pure natural food for you baby, just as though you have made the meals yourself.
Nutritional value?
The meals are everything that you would make yourself, but with the right quanities. Each jar contains real fruit, vegatables and meat. Each jar has the right amount of iron, vitamins and minerals that you baby needs with her meals. Also taken into account is the amount of milk that your baby is drinking.
Menu Variety?
Meals start from 4 months to over a year old. Loads of different types of breakfasts, lunches-dinners, and puddings, to fruit mixes. They also do a vegetarian options. The 7 month upward food includes the choices: casserole with apple, cottage pie, creamy vegetable curry, vegetable jumble, vegetable squash and chicken, mixed vegetables, pumpkin with swede and lamb, seaside pasta, sweet vegetable pasta, fruity chicken casserole, mediterranean vegetables with chicken and sweet potato and pasta with peach, chicken and red pepper. The puddings include, mixed fruit and banoffee pie. For the younger baby mums own also does pure meat allowing you to add your own vegetables, or add their pure vegetables.
Taste?
I get told off by my other children for trying the food out, I love the taste and if i like it, well .......If its good enough for me, then it must be good enough for my daughter. I wouldn't expect anyone to eat anything that i wouldn't eat myself. Baby food has changed over the past eight years, as I have found that baby food now tastes the same as adult food. I gave tried all the meals that I have given to my daughter and everyone has tasted exactly as though i had made it myself.
Packaging?
The jars are made of glass, with a metal lid, they also have great pictures on them which show you what meat and vegeables are in the food that you are buying. The baby food containers for 12 months and over are made from plastic, that can be placed straight into the microwave for heating. This also allows you to feed your baby straight from the container, as it is just like a round bowl.
Value for money?
I have found that these are a little more expensive that other baby foods but plenty of shops do deals on them, ie, buy 6 for £2 etc. I have seen Asda, Tesco's and Morrisons having deals. In my opinion, heinz Mum's own is well worth the money, even at full price, as it does not just save you time in cooking a full meal for you baby, then placing the food into a blender, but it also makes sure that your baby gets everything that they need.
Recommend?
I already have recommended to family and friends that have babies, therefore would recommend to everyone.
