I am looking at a cheerful red can with the black Heinz logo . Surrounded by clusters of ripe tomatos, on the vine.. I have bought the 'mug size' can, which contains 171 calories.Weight is 300 grams. And I purchased it from Tesco and paid 47p. It is low fat and low sugar. I shall have this with wholemeal bread and butter, with sprinklings of black pepper, and grated cheese. I love the way the cheese melts, into the thick tomato soup. I have just noticed it recommends this, on the reverse of the can. Also, a swirl of fresh cream, is a nice presentation feature.
This makes a delicious lunch. And I am getting hungry at the thought. Also on the can, it states the fact that Heinz was established in 1869.The cooking instructions are to cook on hob, or microwave.Remember, If cooking it in the microwave, remove from can first! :0)....This soup is suitable for vegetarians, and those on a gluten free diet. And this serving contains 2g, of recommended daily salt intake, which is 6g.
Once opened, if storing ,remove from can into covered container. And consume within 7 days. Also listed are Ingrediants, and Nutrition information.Website address, and customer service number.
This can has a ring pull. (Whoever invented that, must of made a fortune.) Which is convienient, if you are away from home. The can is made from recyclable steel. As i open the can, I notice the vibrant colour of the liquid. And the aroma of sweet tomatoes.
Once in the pan, I bring to the boil, then turn down low, and simmer for two minutes, whilst stirring with a wooden spoon.. Leaving the soup to infuse, and bubble. I prefer to drink my soup from a bowl. It just tastes better. Why is that? And I transfer the soup from pan to bowl. It really is quite a healthy serving. More than I expected.
With a bright red/orange inviting colour, suggesting warmth and comfort.Perfect on a cold winters day.
On Tasting. ==========
The first impression, is that of richness. A rich full taste. With a tang of herb. Just right! Not too strong. Just an underlying flavour. It is absolutely delicious! Clinging to my palate. And filling my mouth with sweet vine tomato flavour. Strong, warming, and satisfying. Thick, and wholesome.
And 'Full on' Tomato flavour. This soup contains 84% real Tomatoes. And you can taste it! It contains nil artificial flavours, or colouring. Just 100% pure goodness. The only quibble I have, is that I prefer to add salt to food myself.
In Comparison. =============
In my opinion, No other Tomato soup can touch Heinz. They have perfected the recipe. And I hope they never change it. I have tried numerous other brands. And found them to be watery, bland , and a poor imitation. I have also tried fresh soup. And I still do not think, they come close. As with their Baked beans, Heinz truly have the recipe, spot on. And no other market leader can compare.
In summing up. =============
I think value for money is excellent. Nutritional value is excellent. Taste and flavour excellent. And quality of brand excellent.
Heinz is a Market Leader. Respected from their humble beginnings. And their advertising as Pure Foods. They were hugely responsible in 1906 for bringing in, the 'Pure food and drug act'. Which required all food companies to maintain strict safety standards. Up until then, botulism was a common problem in processed foods.
Heinz early philosophy was, "Heartbeat is better than horsepower" And ' Kindly care and fair treatment ' of workers. And they lived up to that, by treating their workforce to, weekly manicures, lunchtime concerts, and supplied them with a works roof garden.....Those were the days!
Heinz creme of tomato soup, comes in a large family size can. And look out for special offers for packs of four in regular size. You can purchase this soup from all leading supermarkets. And most smaller stores.

THE LEGEND THAT IS HEINZ CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP
*****A Little bit about Heinz*****
In 1869, two American Gentlemen, Henry J Heinz and L Clarence Noble launched a little company which would grow and evolve to revolutionize store cupboards the world over, and send a legacy far ahead into the dim and dark future, so that even now, 137 years later, the products they dreamed up still grace our shelves and warm our bellies on cold Sunday afternoons in ... ...In 1876 our beloved Heinz Tomato Ketchup was born, and the company name was the singular and now world renowned HEINZ, with no sigh whatsoever of Mr Noble. Ten years later, Mr Heinz was selling his products to London's Fortnum and Mason, and in 1892, while riding a train through a New York station, he hit upon the idea of 57 varieties after looking at a billboard selling shoes. There are of course more than 57 varieties in the Heinz product range ...

...remember eating all that many Heinz product when I was very little. It was only as I grew older that I started eating them. And yet we always seemed to have a Heinz tin or two in the larder.
I fist came across Heinz Tomato soup one Sunday night. I was looking for something for my dinner. My sister had opened a tin of Heinz soup but didn’t like it. So I tried it and quite liked it. Alas there was not enough bread to go with it so I could not finish ... ...in Asda I came across Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup in a microwaveable cup. Into the basket it went.
You can still buy Heinz Tomato soup in cans. The cans come in two sizes: large with 400grams of soup in it and mug size (a.k.a “for one”) which has 300grams of soup. My micro-cup had 275grams of soup in it and I paid just under £1 for it. The mug size cans cost about £0.49 from Asda and the standard size cost about £0.59 or £2.29 for four also from ...

Heinz - Cream of Tomato Soup
=======================
A food that takes longer to eat than to cook / heat it.
Packaging:
=======
You’re kidding right? Everybody will instantly recognise the bright red tin with its distinctive black label. Which comes in a handy palm sized tin with the now obligatory ring pull. Easy to open and completely recyclable.

Advantages: Too many to mention. Disadvantages: Everyone else nicks my soup
...I am obviously talking about Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup.
As a child my mum used to buy this brand, maybe that's where it all went horribly wrong. I remember being in many a restaurant with my parents over the years and their exasperation at the fact I wouldn't touch anything faintly resembling my beloved Tomato soup. They always thought this was because I was a picky child, but no, I always had taste and still have. There is NO comparison, anywhere.
... ...plump juicy tomatoes. The unique Heinz Logo, white lettering on a black backround tells me Heinz was established a mere 100 Years before I was, in 1869, it also states 'ready to serve' teasingly at the bottom. The ring pull on the top of the can allows quick and easy access to my beloved soup, unless you have false nails, when it can be a bit of a bugger! I have to open my can now, just to remind myself of the contents.
The soup itself is a rich ...

...unfortunately!) forever.
My taste for Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup (to give it it’s official title) seems to have been passed on through the generations, as my own wee ten-year-old daughter also adores it, (is it in the genes?) and there is many a battle in the ‘mad cabbie’ household as to who has the bigger portion when this soup is bubbling away on the cooker!
~ ~ It’s especially a favourite of mine during the winter months.
... ...the golf bag, and I can think of nothing better to warm up the old body and restore the flagging spirits, than a large helping of tomato soup halfway through my round on a bleak, dour, wet and miserable winter’s morning on the links. (well, since I gave up the old whisky!)
~ ~ So why is it so tasty, and why is it better (in my opinion) than all the other varieties that are available on the supermarket shelves?
Well, if I knew the definitive ...

I am quite lazy and I just put it in the microwave in a wee white microwave pot thingy with a handle and eat it out of that.
I have just eaten mine (all for the sake of ciao). And I really enjoyed it but I must confess I had a slice of bread, as it is too watery for me without it (that?s my excuse and I am sticking to it).

Baxters Favourites
Scotch Broth
A soup worth coming home for?
If I had to choose between tinned soup or homemade soup, the homemade stuff would win hands down every time. However, there are times when you're tired, or it's cold in the kitchen, or you need a wee bit of instant comfort, when the tinned soup calls and you dutifully answer. There are three types of tinned soup that I love above all other tinned varieties and these are:
The Co-op's own Lentil and Bacon (Mmmmm)
HeinzCream of TomatoSoup (Devine with cheese)
Baxters Favourites Scotch Broth.
Having already sung the praises of HeinzCream of TomatoSoup, now comes the turn of the best soup Audrey Baxter has ever created!

With the current trend in writing opinions about HeinzCream of TomatoSoup I feel I must redress the balance. I love HeinzCream of TomatoSoup, but come on people. There are more flavours of soup out there!
I recently had a shot stay in hospital, AWWW !!!
No, seriously, it was an emergency admission but I am getting better now. Why tell us that I hear you ask; because this is where I first encountered this flavour of soup.
Yuk! I thought, do I look like a health food type person (whatever that means). How wrong can a person be; about as wrong as I as. Tomatosoup is now officially relegated to second place in my premier league.
When I was safely ensconced in my natural habitat my Mum, bless her, asked me what I would like for lunch. I sarcastically asked for Blended Carrot and Coriander soup; no problem she replied ...
