I spend quite a bit of time with my 9 month old nephew and came across these great little snacks. I remember the old style rusks with my other nephews in their mid to late teens. They were large and bulky (the rusks, that is!) and had a bland taste to them, not so with these.
The product is obviously not a substitute for a good meal but is great to have at the bottom of the pushchair if you are out and about and the baby wants a snack.-Price and Availability -
We got these from Tesco's but I presume that most supermarkets will sell them. You get 4 packs of 30g with 6 biscuits in each pack for 1.20 which works out at a bargain price of half a penny per biscuit.
- Contents, Age Range etc-As I have already stated you get 6 rusks in each packet. These are approx 5 cm x 5cm and 2cm deep at the fattest point.
Farley's make a lot of different types of rusks but the particular packets that I bought has from 7 months onwards on the front of the packet. There are a couple of different ways of serving these:
* Finger food - Just give the baby the biscuit to suck on. These are easily dissolved in the mouth and ideal for babies who can feed themselves. This can be very messy as the biscuits dissolve easily in the mouth and lots of crumbs etc fall all around so be prepared to be armed with baby wipes, bibs etc!!
* You can also break the rusks up in to small pieces and mix in a bowl with their usual milk or some cooled boiled water. You end up with a creamy consistency to feed with a spoon. Both ways are popular with the little fella but I have to say that the latter way is far less messy!
-Taste -These are very tasty and I find myself finishing off the rest of the packet after he has gone home. They are quite sweet tasting and not at all like the rusks I remember of old!
-Ingredients -I feel that it's important for me to list these just incase anyone has a baby with some allergies:
Wheat flour, sugar, veg oil, calcium carbonate, emulsifier, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Vitamin D
Unless you are like me and finish the remaining rusks in the packet, then they are best stored in a airtight container once opened and if you are thinking of leaving them for a couple of days.

I have added a photo of the packaging as this particular product has a different packet to the one shown by ciao.
