Advantages: Kids seem to like it Disadvantages: THAT COLOUR !!!!
...food items has to be Heinz Tomato Ketchup. We all know it is the BEST - Bar none, that is never in question - but who would have thought that one day we'd question what COLOUR It is?
Right, I know that before they are ripe, tomatoes are green, but tomato sauce/ketchup is RED. There is no getting away from that fact....until now.
I suppose if you are the sort of person who likes Mushy peas with your dinner, this ketchup ... ...is approxamately the same as Heinz normal (Simply THE BEST) Red Ketchup, but at present they are the only manufacturers - that I know of - that make this colour.
This might be a good thing to buy for a Kids party - but don't blame me for any adverse reaction. From what I've seen they will like it - but it might also be scary.
And one more suggestion - this is probably ideal for the movies in making 'alien blood'. more
Whoever thought up the idea of this disgusting looking gunk should be shot!!!!!
Heresy - Sacrilege - Downright murder. One of the most sacred of food items has to be Heinz Tomato Ketchup. We all know it is the BEST - Bar none, that is never in question - but who would have thought that one day we'd question what COLOUR It is?
Right, I know that before they are ripe, tomatoes are green, but tomato sauce/ketchup is RED. There is no getting away from that fact....until now.
I suppose if you are the sort of person who likes Mushy peas with your dinner, this ketchup may be right up your street. You could pile the ketchup on your food - mushy peas as well - and make your plate into a vile concoction of .........(Ugh the mere thought turns my stomach).
I had the misfortune over Christmas and New Year to be 'introduced' to this green goo. We were staying with in laws and their young sons love it. Sure - it IS Different looking, but it does taste the same as the 'proper' stuff. The one thing I can't get out of my mind is putting GREEN Ketchup on my food.
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!
The kids love it though.
It comes in the same kind of bottle as regular RED Ketchup and to all intents and purposes is the same. Same smell, same taste, same texture. It's just that it's a gunky green colour.
Not BRIGHT Green - Not LIME Green - Not OLIVE Green, just a DULL GUNKY (that really is the only way to describe it) Green.
Apararently - so my extensive research tells me - Regular Ketchup would have always been this colour if it were not for the addition of colourings. When you think about it, a tomato is only red on the outside, so the bulk of the item when pulped, blended, mashed would be nondescript. It is just me - and probably many of you - who are so used to seeing Ketchup as being RED in colour that it is a tremendous 'leap of faith'...in fact a COLOUR PREJUDICE....to accept that Ketchup could be any other colour.
Pricewise it is approxamately the same as Heinz normal (Simply THE BEST) Red Ketchup, but at present they are the only manufacturers - that I know of - that make this colour.
This might be a good thing to buy for a Kids party - but don't blame me for any adverse reaction. From what I've seen they will like it - but it might also be scary.
And one more suggestion - this is probably ideal for the movies in making 'alien blood'.
Advantages: Has some healthy ingredients Disadvantages: Looks like slime
Well, Heinz that well-known supplier of quality condiments has brought out 'Green Ketchup', or Green Sauce, as it is officially known. Why? Apparently there is a worthy motive behind the product. It has been widely established that kids don't like eating vegetables. This is partly due to the taste, due to hormonal differences between adults and children green vegetables often taste far bitterer to children than adults. Another factor in turning kids ... ...we find the following
Heinz tomato ketchup 99.8% (Tomatoes, spirit vinegar, glucose syrup, sugar, salt, spice and herb extract, spice, garlic powder)
Colouring (Titanium dioxide, quinoline yellow and patent blue V)
It does not contain artificial flavourings or preservatives
It does contain 2mg Lycopene in every 10ml of sauce.
>>What is Lycopene?<<
Lycopene is also one of the most abundant carotenoids in human blood serum and is the most abundant ...

Advantages: Tastes the same Disadvantages: really does look bad
...same shape as a normal Heinz bottle except I think it's a unique size- it contains 342g. Instead of the normal clear bottle it's covered with a plastic coating or streaked dark and light green- possibly to hide the sickable colour of the actual sauce. The lid is green as well and it does make quite a contrast with all the other red ketchup's on the shelves. ***Actual Sauce***
The sauce is just normal ketchup without the colorings that normal make ... ...same and is exactly the same texture however it has slightly more calories- 108 per 100g compared to the traditional 107 per 100g.
The color of the sauce isn't the bright fluorescent green I'd expected- it was more of a dull, swampy green. It's hard to describe but on food it looks very dark and with bits of dull black in it. I don't know why this is but bright red sauce somehow looks more normal than green. It's just the brain telling me it shouldn't ...

Heinz the inventor of green tomato sauce could be the new health food.
Recent studies have been done on antioxidants and their benefit to our health. Lecithin is an antioxidant that is found in tomatoes and especially their skins and is concentrated in tomato sauce. This is apparently good news for those of us who like to drown our food in the thick sweet vinegary taste of Heinz tomato sauce.
Antioxidants are molecules that soak up and neutralise ... ...of molecules that come from our diet and other sources and cause damage to artery walls, cells of internal organs and the skin. They can cause arteriosclerosis (hardening of arteries) aging and cancers. This means it is not a good idea to have too many running around your system. Tomato sauce and its antioxidants soak up these free radicals and prevent them from doing their damage. This is considered to help slow the aging process, slow the development ...

...On the 22nd June 2001 Heinz launched the Limited Edition Green Sauce. This sauce is made with Heinz Tomato Ketchup, so is still full of juicy tomatoes … (although it is very hard to believe when you look at it!) It tastes exactly the same as the good old red ketchup, although I have had several people around who are convinced it tastes different. I think it tastes exactly the same … eaten with your eyes shut! It is very hard to picture ... ...Green Sauce is made with Heinz Tomato Ketchup (99.8% made with Tomatoes, Spirit Vinegar, Glucose Syrup, Sugar, Salt, Spice and Herb extracts, Spice, Garlic Powder) Colours – Titanium Dioxide, Quinoline Yellow and Patent Blue.

...Would you believe H J Heinz claim their sales of the stuff exceeds US$1.2 billion world wide and they have a stronghold not only in the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand but in markets like Thailand. Heinz Tomato Ketchup,in short,is something of a global icon ! Imagine my surprise in going to my local supermarket and seeing green Tomato Ketchup staring me in the face. Was I drunk ? No I was stone cold sober. Were my eyes playing tricks with me? ... ...so much that they requested Heinz to produce it for the British market. Now Heinz are big, very big, in Britain and the Ketchup market is worth more than US$160 million and Heinz claim a 55% share of that market. Heinz point out that combining blue and yellow food colouring to achieve a rich, verdant, green colour is commonly used and perfectly safe. The colours,it seems, are added to to the regular red tomato sauce recipe and,say Heinz, tastes identical ...

Advantages: do taste like tomato ketchup Disadvantages: no good if you don't like tomato ketchup
When I bought a Walkers multipack which included 2 packs HeinzTomatoKetchup, 2 packs Cheese & Branston Pickle and 2 packs Marmite flavoured crisps from Poundland my intention was to eat the Cheese & Branston Pickle crisps. That was until the rest of the family got hold of them and all that was left was the HeinzTomatoKetchup flavour.
I must admit that I like TomatoKetchup, especially on my chips so I thought I give them a go. The 25g packet has the usual ‘Walkers Crisps’ logo on it. It is red with a picture of crisps on it. Further down the front just like the label off a tomato sauce bottle there is a white background with a two-tone green border with black writing stating HeinzTomatoKetchup flavour. Making it easy to see what flavour they are.
When I opened the crisps there was not a strong smell of tomatoes ...
Advantages: taste good, addictive, not too pricey Disadvantages: -
the bag and in black lettering it says 'TomatoKetchup' and there are green bands at the top and bottom. I bought a 25g bag, the back of the bag gives information on how good the potatoes are that they use for the crisps and all of the nutritional information. It also lists contact information if you need to make any complaints and so on.
As soon as I open up a bag of these crisps I am hit with a faint smell of tomato but also potato. The crisps look like your usual crisps ovals of potato cooked to give a golden colour. They also have a reddish grain on them which will clearly be the flavouring for the crisps. The crisps are crunchy and they taste great, you can really taste the tomato flavouring and it is pretty much as good as HeinzKetchup. They are so addictive and not too strong with the flavouring but just right. These are by far my ...
Advantages: A great tasting condiment that goes with almost anything. Disadvantages: none.
and control, though. A trick was to tip and tap the edge slightly and that would start the flow. The bottles are still on the shelves in their classic shapes and sizes. But Heinz relized that in today's world...NOBODY WANTS TO WAIT FOR ANYTHING...no matter how good. So bring on the squeeze bottle that shoots the ketchup out in spurts, or plops! It gets it out fast, and that's all that matters.
Heinz has been around since 1869. They are marketing weird ketchups in the States such as 'green' ketchup. It's still Tomatoketchup. It still tastes like Tomatoketchup. The thing is it's green instead of red. This is for kids, and is suppose to make eating fun! Needless to say sales are dwindling.
Ketchup is a low sodium, veggan, and low calorie food. It's ingredients are all natural made from tomato concentrate, distillrd vinegar, high frucose corn ...
