You will either love it or hate it, depending on your palette. I was looking around for something different at Christmas as we all seem to go for very sweet things and I do tend to like some thing that has a bit of a kick to it.
The packaging is quite simple for Heinz and is a 275g glass jar with a black lid. On the front is the Heinz label with pictures of cauliflower, onion ... ...diet. Also it carries the Heinz Guarantee and customer service details.
You can see the colour of the pickle as the jar is transparent. It is like a dark murky yellowy colour. Usually I find this sort of pickle to be mustard in colour but this is a bit different.

On the side of the yellow label is the ingredients and nutritional elements and on the other it states it has no artificial colours and is suitable for a gluten free diet. Also it carries the Heinz Guarantee and customer service details.

The lid is twistable and boy did it take a lot of strength to open it. When I opened this, it made my mouth water straight away as you can definatley smell the pickle and the strong smell of vinegar is quite over powering.
It has got a kick to it and made my face go ewww but deep down I know I really love this product and it is not as bitter as some Picccccallllillly I have tried before. (Ok, stop laughing, I like it but never remember how to spell it)
There are large chunks of pickled onions in this and they are quite crunchy which must mean they add the onion to the pickle later on, other wise it would be squishy. There are also chunks and all sorts of shapes that is the cauliflower and gherkins and you can tell which is the gherkins from the rest as it is the only thing that is green in the jar, well I hope it is the gherkin! All the vegetables seem to be rather crunchy and the sauce itself is quite thick, I would say about the same as Tomato sauce in thickness.
When using the sauce and if it is your first time I would say spread it thinly on your sandwhich, unless you are like me and love it and I often just have it on its own on a sandwhich. ewwwww, but true.
The jar is full to the top and you certainly get your moneys worth and I paid 49p for this at Spar and it is sold in Supermarkets all over.
This is also suitable for vegetarians and is very low in fat so would suit people who are embarking on diets this year, one of which is me as I have put on a bit over Chrimbo.
This is ideal on sandwhiches where you might put sweet pickle, you can put piccalilli. Try it on a ham sandwhich or chicken to give it an extra bit of flavour. It also goes rather nice on corned beef and cheese sandwhiches.
I love this and can quite happily eat this straight from the jar, but this is a girl who also could eat English Mustard the same way.
I would recommend it to anyone who would like to have a different taste to their foods. I find there is no middle ground with this product. You either love it or hate it.
