Brilliant companty & good luck for the future. ... more
The negative reviews below me...I do not understand. I think a lot may have changed. I was wary as my husband had been with Drive Assist, who just treated him like a child and were very rude staff.
I had an accident back in December 2008 (during Christmas time) and a few days after received a call from a lovely girl that said she worked for helphire.
My insurance company Esure had referred myself to them (HELPHIRE DO NOT HUNT PEOPLE OUT) as the insurance companies and helphire have contracts. Helphire in fact pay the insurance companies to take on their claim, so they are not money grabbers.

Which is a logical question to ask, surely independant companies couldnt keep you in a hire vehicle for months whilst you argue over a vehicle value.. I was advised i could ask for a part payment if still unhappy by the 7th day from the offer.
The hire vehicle was delivered 1/2 hours after the time i requested, which was fine as i was told to allow a 2 hour window. The car was a gorgeous BMW (same as my vehicle) an 08 plate, and just lovely and clean. I was updated very often with the status of my claim, and i was informed that THEY WOULD PREFER the hire documents back before hire began, and if not it may result in a charge if they didnt get them returned, as they need the legal documents to forward to the at fault insurance to prove we had the hire vehicles, and simply claim the mony back. I learnt all this by talking to the staff there, who were honest and open about how Helphire works.
Advantages: they do all the work for you Disadvantages: None
...car delivered to my door. Helphire said they would also help me reclaim all of my out of pocket expenses.
What's the catch?
They were so helpful I did start to wonder what they were going to get from this deal and what it would really cost me. They confirmed this over the phone; the only cost to me was £10, that was it. This was a legal insurance policy, which could be used if they lost the claim. Helphire only deal with 'no fault' accidents and ... ...your car is repaired it's still an accident-damaged car. This obviously affects the value of the car and makes it a lot harder to sell.
I've heard the insurance companies hate this company and you can see why.

Advantages: Great company, Disadvantages: Only for NON-fault accidents
...great pleasure of working for Helphire for 16 months - I left there about 9 months ago and parted on really good terms. I wanted to share with you what Helphire are all about, as I was greatly impressed by the work that they do.
Helphire is an accident management company that dealt with assisting drivers who had been involved in an accident that is no fault of their own. These services include:

- Loss of earnings - Helphire can help with any loss of earnings you may have incurred due to the result of an accident.
- Personal Injury - if you were injured during the accident then Helphire will assist with a personal injury claim on your behalf.
The bonus of making a claim through Helphire is that you do not need to get your insurance involved, and risk losing your no claims bonus - Insurance companies ...

Advantages: Provide "free" car Disadvantages: may not recover costs
Helphire have certainly had to improve their service and product recently as they were caught out and had to wait for a lot of claims being settled and negotiations to take place with the big insurers. Since December 2000 they joined the ABI GTA as 1st Tier Subscribers which means that they have a set rate to charge and rules and procedures to follow. If they do not follow them they can be kicked off the scheme and insurers will not pay the costs. ... ...witness in court. To Insurers Helphire are now one of the better companies and a necessary evil. Of course they are on commision from the Solicitors as they are with the garages. My tip is though a lot of insurers are being more proactive - speak to them first to see what they can offer. A lot including Budget and Directline offer to repair your vehicle and provide you with a hire car. Hire cars are normally given too if your vehicle is a total loss. ...

Quick review of Helphire
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
They were going to charge an extortionate amount to the other insurance company for a hire car and when I phoned the other insurance company direct they said they had alot of problems with helphire and they probably wouldn't have paid them for that (leaving me to pay) I dealt with the other persons insurance company direct, they had a hire car with me promptly. I even dealt with the recovery of my vehicle myself and had it taken to a repairer that I knew was good, helphire wanted to take my car 100 miles away to an unknown repairer. I pay my insurance company so see no reason why I should pay this lot another £10 for nothing. AVOID< AVOID< AVOID ...
