I had the great pleasure of working for Helphire for 16 months - I left there about 9 months ago and parted on really good terms. I wanted to share with you what Helphire are all about, as I was greatly impressed by the work that they do.
Helphire is an accident management company that dealt with assisting drivers who had been involved in an accident that is no fault of their own. These services include:
- a hire car for the duration of repairs, or if the clients car is a write-offf, then a hire car until they receive a cheque from the other party.
- repairs - your vehicle will be repaired in a carefully selected garage that will be local to your area -you also have the option of choosing what garage you want, as long as it's a Helphire apptoved garage.
- Loss of earnings - Helphire can help with any loss of earnings you may have incurred due to the result of an accident.
- Personal Injury - if you were injured during the accident then Helphire will assist with a personal injury claim on your behalf.
The bonus of making a claim through Helphire is that you do not need to get your insurance involved, and risk losing your no claims bonus - Insurance companies are only advised for information purposes only. The only times you would need to refer back to your insurance was if Helphire couldn't clearly prove the accident wasnt your fault, or if you have fully comprehensive insurance and your vehicle is a write off. In the latter case you would still receive a hire car until a cheque arrived on your doorstep to get a replacement car.
All costs from the services Helphire provide are reclaimed from the other persons Insurance company. You are not asked to pay a deposit or holding fee for services, which is what some companies will do when providing a hire car.
Helphire is a great company if you have your works vehicle involved in a non-fault accident. What Helphire do is provide a like for like vehicle hire services. So if you have, say a LWB van, then Helphire will provide you with one. Whilst working there I remember for providing like for like hire for an ice cream van -and for a horsebox with sleeping quarters and a kitchen!! So many companies will only give you a small car if your works vehicle is in for repair -and that's no help to you as it would be impossible to work with!
Helphire process your claim very quickly - they need to do this by law to mitigate losses to the other side. So if your vehicle is repairable then they will get repairs started asap, and you will get your vehicle back repaired as soon as is humanly possible.
I would also like to stress again that Helphire only provide their services if you are in a non-fault accident, as they can't claim off your own insurance! They also need certain information about the other vehicle and driver to proceed with a claim.
I would like to give advice from my own experience as to details you need when you are involved in an accident.

- other drivers insurance details - if they only know which company they are insured with but dont know polivy number then don't worry -it can be traced if you have the insurance company.

I would highly recommend this company as I saw the behind the scenes work that this company put in, to ensure that you have as little stress as possible in a situation that wasn't your fault. There are no hidden costs, no gimmicks or shoddy repair work -they are quality assured and best of all -you don't claim through your insurance.
