A Most Unusual Gin...

AdvantagesExcellent, floral, refreshing.

DisadvantagesA little expensive.

"Hendricks Gin **************** Hendricks gin is distilled in a shed in Ayrshire not that far south of Glasgow. Itís distilled in one of four remaining working Carter-Head stills where the distillate vapours are passed through a tray of botanicals rather than left to steep in its liquid form. Towards the end of the distillation the spirit is put through a cucumber mash (Pulped cucumbers mixed with ice cold water) where the gin picks up its characteristic ..." Read review

Cool as a ...

AdvantagesIts taste, novelty and beautiful bottle

DisadvantagesThe price tag

"...graphical flourishes. The label read HENDRICK'S GIN, set beautifully in upper-case lettering in a dark colour that stood out perfectly from the slightly off-white label. Wow! I didn't care what it tasted like - it was a brilliant gift! Of course, being at work still at the time I was given the gift meant that trying the stuff there and then was out of the question, so I had to stick to different sorts of investigation initially. So, first things ..." Read review

Hedrick's gin - possibly the best gin available

Advantagesgood clean taste, not overpowering

Disadvantagesexpensive

"...Well sorry but for me Hendrick's is the best gin available, and it is made in Scotland. It is very different from most other gins in the way it is made. Most gins on the market boil the botanicals used with the spirit. Hendrick's is batch made and they pass the vapour from the boiling spirit through the botanicals which gives a cleaner and crisper taste. This is a slower method and the more slowly this process is done, the smother and better the ..." Read review

The godfather of gins

AdvantagesUnique Flavours

DisadvantagesPrice

"...Gin and Vodka Association. Hendrick's is a small batch gin distilled in Ayrshire, Scotland. Its uniqueness comes from a variety of means: 1.The production: Production takes place with a 'Carter-Head Still' - there are only 4 left in the world. This one was built in 19th century London and was been restored to its original condition by coppersmiths who work full-time for William Grant and Sons. A lot of distillation is done by crudely boiling its ..." Read review
