Advantages: His books cannot be put down Disadvantages: His books cannot be put down
...James Herbert must be the author of the past and this century. His books can capture you, hold you and immerse you in what ever he feels it necessary to write about, the only problem is that that they will not let you go, long after you have closed the back cover on it and committed it back to the shelf. I own all works of this author and I felt that ‘48 is the best. Not everyone’s taste I admit but each to his own. I liked the way the book cunningly mentions his other works i.e. the rats, only avid Herbert readers would pick up on this. His research and attention to detail is superb but he also apologises for the poetic license when he has deviated from history for the purpose of the book. All Herberts are an excellent read over and over again....

...I have just finished reading James Herberts - Creed and I found it utterly enthralling. The story tells the tale of a man names Creed, a famous and very good (by all accounts) member of the paparazzi, known for getting the photoes that everyone wants to see (usually the celebrities snogging someone they DON't want to be seen with)...except, one day he photo's something that he shouldn't have and he is thrown in to a whole different world, where horrors haunt him and he loses track of reality. This is a gripping book, one of Herberts best, and I suggest that after this you read 'others' also by James Herbert that follows the same sort of story but it much more developed with charatcers and plot....

...The chase is On stop and you Die......................
This is the most impressive James Herbert book I have ever read! (and I have read them all)
The story is set in 1945 with the main character being Hoke an American Pilot unleashed to help Britain.
London is just debris after 3 years of bombing and all thats left is small pockets of survivors some a tiny minority with a rare blood type thats unaffected by the disease killing everyone else.
Among these survivors are the Fascist Blackshirts who are desperate for a cure to the disease as they are not immune!
Running for his live Hoke comes across other characters eventually coming to an explosive climax at Tower Bridge!
A must Read for all James Herbert readers with great imagination amd emotion.
A stunning novel of pure heartstopping action!...
