Not just limited to mixing two MP3's, this unit also allows you to mix with a variety of sources such as turntables and CD players. This is because you can attach various external hardware to the device via the extra connections you have available, including optical and RCA.
There are two sets of master outputs as standard, meaning you can output to two separate amplifiers as an example, or record with one output and then monitor your sound through the other. Acting as a standard soundcard as well as the MP3 mixer, you do not need an additional soundcard to use the DJ Console and it can act as the main soundcard for your computer.
The device also has beat matching capabilities, this is automated so you are always in sync with your mixes(bpm) There is also the ability to use the console as a MIDI control device and external audio applications such as Reason and Ableton Live amongst others are supported. Three different hardware effects are included, such as echo and repeat echo, allowing you to create some unique effects.
Unit supplied with Virtual DJ software which is adequate and allows you to perform well. I would recommend a fairly powerful PC as the unit and software is quite resource hungry, especially as you are working with audio files. Basically the faster the pc the more accurate/in-sync your playback and mixing will be.
The device is also extremely compact and portable, well suited to the mobile DJ. The DJ Console, a laptop and your audio library are all you really need to become a mobile artist. The device also has a removable hard cover for the front of the device, and is generally built very well and not too fragile in any way.
One downside perhaps is the jog wheels being positioned a bit to close to the other buttons on the console meaning that you can easily touch the jog wheel accidentally, throwing your mix out of sync. The jog wheel does however allow you to scratch in real-time, this is both easy, very effective and fun.
Overall I would rate this as 8 out of 10 and say it is great fun and has an endless amount of possibilities to show off your musical talent and ideas!

Thanks for the review. Im seriously in need of one of these, my pc is powerful enough by far. I use virtual dj on a daily basis and have seen a video tutorial of this machine in action, can achieve some seriously good results with this bit of kit. Cheers James.
