Advantages Advantages good mix of flavours, nice texture

Disadvantages Disadvantages hard to find in UK and expensive when you do

It is a well established chocolate wisdom that American chocolate tastes inferior to British and European chocolate. My mum told me that this was because they had to put something in the chocolate to stop it from melting. Hence when I was younger and we visited America I stuck to chocolate that I knew I would like. Basically that was M&Ms. I couldn’t help but notice that virtually every other chocolate bar seemed to contain peanut butter. As a child I liked peanut butter but only on its own. I found that whenever I tried to eat it in a sandwich it just did not work. It Didn’t help that I ... more

Advantages Advantages for lovers of peanut butter, you should try 'em

Disadvantages Disadvantages unhealthy, and they taste like it too! aaaaaargh

Reese's Cups are an American sweet/chocolate made by Hershey's. You may have heard of Hershey bars on american TV shows (although I have not seen these in UK shops). I read something about the peanutbutter cups in magazines in the early 90's, and was surprised to see them on Woolworth's shelves. They come in a brightly coloured orange and yellow "sunlight" package and there are 2 little chocolate covered cupcake things in each pack. As you would expect they are made in America and describe themselves as: Milk Chocolate with peanut butter centre". I must say that I find the peanut centre (there ... more

Advantages Advantages A cute American product

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very sickly

Imagine eating a peanut butter sandwich - got that? Now imagine replacing the bread with milk chocolate. That’s what a Hershey’s Reece’s Cup is like. I buy them at the deli near where I work and although I am supposed to be on a diet, sometimes if I feel like I have been good for a long period of time, I treat myself (see Glitterprincess’s op on Cadbury’s fingers for the same concept!) I originally came across these in NY and I was really hooked, but I have to say, you couldn’t eat 10 of these at once as they are quite sickly, to say the least ... more

Advantages Advantages Unusual Mix, Great for Sweet Tooths

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Far too sweet

Let me first explain how I happen to be in possession of what is known to be an American brand of sweetie. While on my way to get my lottery (well it is Wednesday)from the newsagents just down the way from where I work. I just happened to notice a new shop had opened, and great delights on first glance it's a bakery, am popping in there for a shuftie on my way back thinks me. So I did. On entering said bakery a package jumped out and assaulted my eyeballs with the words Hershey's splattered across it. Oh my I thought you could only get Hersey's in America, i've heard the name in sooo many ... more

Advantages Advantages Erm... well... it's different I suppose!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Where do I start? Makes you feel sick and doesn't taste particularly nice in the first place.

I'm well and truly fed up with Cadbury's chocolate today, having munched my way through enough variations on a Dairy Milk to feed a third world country over the last few days. So I popped into the little newsagents earlier to see what else they'd got. Now our local newsagents is an Aladdins cave of interesting munchies. Aside from the usual Cadbury's and Nestle chocolate bars he sells chocolate bars I've never heard of before and can find no reference to ANYWHERE on the internet - I've checked when I've asked Ciao to add categories for the things! But today I saw something I recognised. *drum ... more
