Review of HP Premium Glossy Photo Paper

Hp's Premium Photo Paper.

Advantages: Excellent high-quality photo paper, produces high quality prints.
Disadvantages: None whatsoever.

Last week, I was asked to journey to my local Office World to buy paper for some holiday snaps. After some shelve browsing I came across the Hewlett Packard Premium photo paper. I bought it purely due to the fact the packaging seemed to reach out, and in one swift promotional swing, forced me to purchase the product. Well okay I'm exaggurating, the main thing which attracted me to the product was the price tag. Office World have always been pretty good on prices, and the 6.79 I paid for a 10 sheet A4 pack of this left me feeling most impressed, infact I picked up two packs worth to cover all the pictures! Hewlett-Packard Advanced Soft Gloss Photo Paper

Advantages: Good finish to the image
Disadvantages: None I can think of.

It's not commonly known, but some full gloss papers can stick to the glass of a photo frame if your chosen print is placed in such a thing. If you the decide to change the frame, you can damage the ink layer of the image, renderinging the whole thing useless. I normally use a matt paper, as I like the overall effect of matt, and the sticking to the glass effect is less of a problem. However, Hewlett Packard's soft gloss paper gives a third option. It's still gives a good glossy shine to the image, but is a little more chilled about the whole thing. A bit like semi-gloss paints for wood work. To be honest HP's products are pretty good, so best advice on this product is this; if you like the halfway house between matt and gloss, it's well worth buying.
