Advantages: Small size, excellent quality of build and sound. Disadvantages: Poor software.
...I purchased my Compaq PA-2 as an impulse buy on ebay. After seeing it listed, I did a little research on the Internet and found its specification to be most agreeable for only £40.
Size:
This little player has excelled at replacing my Walkman. For starters, it is incredibly small at about half the size of a packet of cigarettes. The two ‘AAA’ batteries it runs on weigh more than the device itself!
Durability:
This player is very durable. I have dropped it once or twice and chipped the silver paint around the screen. I have even used it in the bathroom and it is still going strong
Batteries:
I would advise any potential buyers to invest in some rechargeable batteries. Because, although standard alkaline cells last for about 13hrs this drops dramatically if you have the volume turned up or you are using speakers.

Advantages: More tracks than a 64mb mp3 player and cheaper! Disadvantages: Small buttons, plastic feel, not much more than functional.
...I'd heard that mp3 cd players were being developed a while back and thought what a good idea that would be - 200-300 songs (700mb) on a cd. When i went to buy a cd mp3 player i was looking to pay as little as possible for something decent that would do the job. In this category there were very few players. At the £50 mark there is this player and a HewlettPackard. Above these, from £60 upwards the players obviously start improving, with the better players coming in at around the £100 mark. These ones often...

The HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise Handheld is an advanced piece of kit which you can comfortably take with you anywhere you go, almost like a mini laptop! It actually runs on a 624MHz processor, I remember my first ever PC which was 133MHz, that really does put more

Never one to properly maintain a diary, and with an increasingly busy life, I decided to buy myself the HP 1940 iPAQ Palmtop. I've now owned it for about three months and although it's about £240 more expensive than a diary, it's money well spent. I... more
I agree with the reviewer that the speaker is poor and the synthesized voice is not the best. I also get some wrong directions e.g. 'Turn right at the about' when it's actually straight on or left. However the worst thing about the Ipaq 314 companion is... more
