HP Ultrium tape technology has been designed to deliver exceptional reliability and performance at the lowest cost per GB. The Ultrium format builds on the best of existing technologies; open standards increase innovation and widen customer choice in terms of performance, capacity, and form factor. Backed by HP's exhaustive media qualification process, HP Ultrium data cartridges support all HP StorageWorks and non HP Ultrium tape devices. The latest third Generation products minimize interruption to network and SAN backup by being capable of protecting 576GB GB/hour of data and storing up to 800GB on one piece of media (double the capacity of Ultrium 2 tapes). HP's Ultrium media is exhaustively qualified for use with HP and non-HP Ultrium products. A continuous testing program in HP's media laboratory guarantees the high levels of quality uniquely specified by Hewlett-Packard. This product is ideally suited for data center and departmental back up and restore where capacity, performance and cost are critical. IT managers, consultants and network administrators will see a significant improvement in back up and restore functions, alleviating the pressure of managing an ever increasing quantity of critical data in an ever decreasing backup window.
...Ahhhhhh… yet another obscure IT related op. ;-)
Rather than just give you a run-down on the tape itself I thought I'd give you a quick insight into the exciting world of data backup. This will be a quick 'n' dirty guide to backups. It's by no means a comprehensive overview. I've been doing this stuff for over six years and I'm still learning bits here and there!
LTO tapes are the latest in a long line of removable data backup devices, thus meaning that they are A) Faster than their older rivals, and B) more expensive (Naturally).
LTO Stands for Linear Tape-Open. And no; I've got no idea what it means either. Bit of an obscure one even for the IT industry there. I suspect it's got something to do with the way the tapes are read by the drive. Unlike a video cassette in which a length of tape is exposes via a long flap along...

THE HEWLETT PACKARD TECHNOLOGIES: HP DESKJET F380
The HP Collection - Part I

INTRODUCTIO N
Hewlett Packard printers, have become my most convenient and commonly used brands of printing technology for personal use. These particular brands have also evolved to become my favourite choice too. After I abandoned my dusty and NOISY, old 'Epson Stylus' printer in 2000 (due to mediocre print quality and broken parts), I decided to try out the HP range for daily, personal printing (i.e. colourful diagrams, essays etc.) starting with 'HP Deskjet 840'. I immediately noticed how the superior, printing quality delivered by 'HP Deskjet 840' ranked alongside Epson Stylus' upon my visual examination...

...-- HP LaserJet 6L in brief…
This printer has been working with me from ages. I know it’s considered a bit old at the moment and the last time I logged to HP website, I found it was discontinued; however it’s a great printer with great functionalities.
I bough this printer about 4 years ago, when It was a hit in the market and hp was just offering it to the people, I think it was one of the most successful printers to the HP company. Anyway, I am writing this review to the people who liked to work with this printer as I suppose its hard to get one at the moment because its not for sale anymore, and also because there is new models that offer many vast and more functionalities than this printer with a reasonable price. And by the way my model type is C3990A (by the way it’s a black/white printer for those who don’t know).

The HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise Handheld is an advanced piece of kit which you can comfortably take with you anywhere you go, almost like a mini laptop! It actually runs on a 624MHz processor, I remember my first ever PC which was 133MHz, that really does put more
