HP maintenance kit

Advantages: Fast, quiet and reliable
Disadvantages: Not the biggest paper capacity

...Now before I start I should make it clear I'm reviewing this as an end user and as a bloke who has one sitting on a shelf right outside my office door, rather than as a tech who has to look after the thing... and from my side of the fence it seems to be a good little printer! INSTALLATION & MAINTAINENCE I'm afraid I can't tell you how easy it is to install one of these on a network. It seems to me one day one of the techs came along, plugged it in and was done, but I'm sure there must be more too it than that! Whenever inky bits need replacing again a tech pops along and is usually done in a matter of moments. I think there is a cartridge in there somewhere but have never poked about; the most maintenance I've done is to drop the odd sheaf of paper in there! Advantages: Excellent quality, very fast printer!
Disadvantages: None really...

...and the ink consumed are all fantastic I've started to have some problems... This printer is just over a year old now and the feed mechanism is touch and go at best. The problem started around six months in and has worsened since. Basically the printer does not grip the paper and therefore does not feed properly. I contacted HP and they asked me all the usual questions (have I used te software cleaning, feeding problem shooters etc) then suggested I contact a different department and ask for a kit that has been designed for this printer to effectively remedy this problem. I am still waiting for my kit so will be back in touch after I've used it.... Read review

Advantages: whisper quiet, easy to change ink
Disadvantages: quite slow, expensive ink

...Last week, my old boss asked me to go and have lunch with him. When I turned up I noticed a different computer to the one we'd aquired when I was still working there. “What happened to the old laptop, then?” I asked. “Oh, I got a PC at home, so I brought my old Apple Mac in, and gave the old laptop back to the people who lent me it.” “What happened to the HP printer?” “It’s in that cupboard, it has been since you left” Well, I couldn’t allow this gorgeous piece of kit to languish away in the cupboard! I remembered printing stuff off on this at work, and being jealous when I got home to my crappy old Epson, so I asked if I could have it. Luckily for me, he used it as an incentive to get me to go back to work (it is nice to be wanted) so I fished it from the cupboard, brought it home, and got the old fella working again. I...
