Manufacturer's product description
The 5-day u4879s course combines theory and practical labs to teach users how to manage the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array. The concepts and terminology are covered in-depth followed by configuration tasks which include Command View EVA 4.x, Snapshots, Snapclones, Business Copy 3.x and Continuous Access 2.x via the Replication Solutions Manager version 1.2, Secure Path Management on UNIX, Multi-path management with HP MPIO DSM on Windows, scripting with SSSU v 4.x and introduction to EVAperf 1.x.
Advantages: Stability, extra features Disadvantages: Might make some hard/software obsolete
...Boy who pointed out that the Epson 640's drivers for Windows 2000 should work, maybe this one should now be filed under SURmountable problems. I downloaded these drivers just now (27/06/02), and despite dire warnings from Windows that they might not work, they do, so I'm now back onto 1440 dpi printing again. However, this does highlight a problem. I had to use drivers for the wrong printer and wrong OS to get results! Novices, you might well tremble!
Also, my Hewlett Packard scanner has now come under the all-embracing “native to Windows” wing, presumabaly for the same reason; manufacturer inaction. Unfortunately, this now means that there is no Optical Character Recognition option for scanning printing directly into text, as the Windows driver obviously doesn’t want me to have it how I wanted it. Advantages: Well designed and works well Disadvantages: The cost can be high for up and coming companies
...If you've got an enterprise business with real email needs, forget the standard edition. Theres only one way to go and thats with this version...enterprise. Standard edition only offers 16GB database limit which these days isnt very much at all. It also only offers 1 mailbox store. Enterprise offers you up to 20 mailbox stores which makes for far better organization. You can have for example sales in one store, accounts in another and another for you directors etc. so its far easier to manage. Enterprise also offers clustering and X400 connectors for thoese who require them. All in all, theres really no better email software out there. Your other alternatives are Lotus Notes which in my experience is nowhere near as easy for your end users to use as Exchange with Outlook....

Advantages: Easy to maintain, cheap, good support, well featured, stable, user friendly it works! Disadvantages: Not the quickest distribution though.
...nvidia drivers were installed signified by the nvidia splash screen. This is still one of the few Distros around that will do that extra step for you (Vector being another) and it is very welcome -especially when Fedora can't even get the drivers installed. Unfortunately, don't expect to use this as a RAID server. Despite it's Debian heritage which should make it a cracking server, it just won't install on my RAID SCSI setup. I am told it is because my Compaq RAID card isn't supported -which is a shame. However, given most people will be using it as a casual server/desktop on IDE disks it doesn't make a real difference, although the Libranet site is hosted with Libranet 2.8 which is a testament to its suitability -especially considering all the best serving packages are provided on the discs (proftpd, Mysql, php, sendmail etc...

The HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise Handheld is an advanced piece of kit which you can comfortably take with you anywhere you go, almost like a mini laptop! It actually runs on a 624MHz processor, I remember my first ever PC which was 133MHz, that really does put more
